Re: Did T'Pol NEED the Trellium D?
Well I'm with KTR I think that if that was the reason she did it it was degrading and not to mention more than a little stupid. Oh well, all people at one point are more than a little stupid. But I don't remember Trip being particularly agressive romantically until after Harbinger either. What the heck did I miss???? I must like romances being slow and steady. I am the only Bones fan on the planet the likes whats going on. And since it took me 5 years with a y to get my guy, I say slow is fine.

Don't even go there with Bones. I've never seen actors so uncomfortable with their scenes as the last two weeks. Five no six years now is enough and regressing characters back to the first season after five years buildup is bad writing and a real disservice to the actors and the fans who have invested in the characters growth. I thought that's what the writer's did to T'Pol and the relationship with Trip when they didn't think through the whole addiction thing.

Hey to each his own pdsldl! I think it's cool what they're doing. And I think they all deserve emmys. I don't see any regression in Bones. It's life. Somethings take time. Part of the reason TnT was so rocky was the TD the fact that neither of them were ready, and the fact it was chopped together fast like stir fry.

Re: Did T'Pol NEED the Trellium D?
I can't say it wsa fast. Took three seasons to get off the ground and then the writers stomped on it. Until bound there was nothing but yo-yoing. Trip having to watch T-Pol marry another guy, then when she is free she doesn't even tell him she is divored he has to find out from Malcom. Poor guy keeps trying and finaly has enough so he tranfer off the ship. He then bravely travels to the Enterprise on that cable. Does she even give him a hint that she is glad to see him? At last, in bound Trip gets a little of his own back. He forces her to admit that she wants him back. TThen they kill that with the "We have a a lot of work to do."
I believe that Coto ws trying to signal that Trip and t-Pol had fianlly resolved tings and were a couple in Demons and Tera Prime. I remember the scene where it was agreed to try getting two people on to the mining facility. Trip and T-Pol were sitting side by side. Everyone else was standing.

Well when I say it was fast, I mean the actual romance part. At the end of season 2 they're at the good friends begining to become more and very attracted to each other. Not even half way through season 3 they are in bed and broken up. Yeah that's fast. The only time they admitted any attraction to each other befor Harbinger was in Sim. So yeah I say it was really fast. If I had been head writer I loved have started the actual "romance stuff" in season 4 after Baby Elizabeth, and consumated in season 5.

WG you should have been born in a different time if you think romances do or should take years to develop. I think sometimes they move too quick in modern times (they miss the friendship stage) but years is just as unrealistic. The whole getting to know one another etc is part of the romance but expecting people who are attracted to wait years to start the physical side of a relationship is expecting too much. Especially when in space in life and death situations daily and face the prospect of there not being a tomorrow.

I don't think I'm particularly old fashioned. I'm 26 I fell in love at 21 life got complicated my guy and I had to break up, fast forward 5 YEARS later we are together, happy, deleriously in love, and hoping to marry. So I don't think waiting years hurt me any. Does that mean I think everyone has too. No that is rediculous and not to mention creepy. But we're talking TV. TV it works either way.

WarpGirl wrote:In what ways was she indirect in early Season 3 before the Seleya? She was the one to push the NP sessions, To calm Trip's fears about gossip, to help him with his work, and just be a really great friend and one who was obviously becoming much more. I didn't see much yo-yoing until after Harbinger. I haven't missed any episodes before that so what am I missing?
She pushed the NP sessions with a ploy, which didn't quite work out as she'd hoped. And when it comes to really important stuff, T'Pol tends to argue the other side from what she really wants -- notice their discussion in Breaking the Ice. Notice Harbinger. E2. Even The Forgotten -- she only gets straight with Trip under duress. Notice Home. Notice practically the entire fourth season. Even Rajin, supposedly calming his fears about gossip. She dangled a very teeny little trial balloon out there, if you ask me, enough to make a guy wonder, but it was damned vague. I'm not saying she's lying to him, though. I'm saying this girl is so messed up she doesn't know if she's coming or going. And this is because she wants to BELIEVE she's a good little rational Vulcan, when in fact she's a lost woman. The only person more confused by T'Pol than Trip is T'Pol herself.
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

I guess we just see it differently Alelou. I don't think she dleiberately was vauge in the instances you mention just cautious and private. As any Vulcan is. Heck I AM!

I don't think Alelou said she was deliberately vague she said she was clueless/lost. You can't be vague if you have no understanding of who you are and what you want. To me the voyage through the expanse for T'Pol was an attempted self discovery that didn't quite come off as planned and then when she tried to correct her mistakes with Trip and repair their relationship the whole Vulcan reinsertion into her life happened and tilted her world upside down again.

Re: Did T'Pol NEED the Trellium D?
See I'm not sure T'Pol didn't "know who she was and what she wanted" so much as she didn't know how to resolve that with being what others Vulcan and Human wanted her to be. Or what she believed they wanted her to be. I think she knew herself and thought herself inadaquate. Kind of like Bones come to think of it. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I see our lovely Vulcan.

Re: Did T'Pol NEED the Trellium D?
Congrats on your pending marriage but you made a choice for a long separation for whatever reason but long suffering and TV doesn't go together nowadays when shows rarely make it past 5 or 6 years. It's unfortunate but this makes the fans antsy and less and less willing to sit back and wait for things to happen. If they play around to long you end up with the romantic leads getting together in the last five minutes of the finale. They played around with TnT so long that when they got canceled the writers weren't invested enough in the relationship to ensure it got addressed properly for the fans who were invested in those characters. And I know it's just TV but it and writing/reading are my chosen methods of escapism. And the shows I watch have good actors, good story, and characters I connect with. Most with main characters that have some sort of strong connection with one another (usually best friends leaning to romance but not always). If it hadn't been for TnT I most likely would not have watched Enterprise because the other characters did not appeal to me on their own. The TD storyline and the crappy way they dealt with TnT in the end would not have happened if BnB and the writers had committed to the relationship and developed it. I truly believe if they had done a better job with that and started off with season three or four in the middle of season one with the best of what they did in the first two seasons first and then moved forward things would have worked out for a longer run.

Re: Did T'Pol NEED the Trellium D?
Aw Shucks jT and Aikiweezie, don't get all excited yet... I neither have my post it note (that's what I want) or a ring (what he wants) to signify a proper engagement. He isn't even in my state! He's working double time to save up for the move here. I live for the phone these days. But he just gave me a surprise visit. I waited a long time for him though he ain't getting away and between the two of us we had more near death experiences in the last five years than Trip did in one season!
pdlsdl I understand where you're coming from truly I do. I hate the B's for a lot about ENT not just TnT. However I don't think we will ever agree on this. And that's ok. But I'm extremely glad we had to grow up some before we could get back to each other. Imagine if we didn't realize it and divorced the idea makes me SICK!
Actually it's dear Alelou that scares me. She seems to think that T'Pol is so self-delusional that I sometimes wonders if she actually thinks that they can work out forever at all. Alelou your version of T'Pol sounds like she needs time in a psych ward. And I've been there so I say that with all the love in the world.
