Filk challenge

Postby TPoptarts » Tue May 01, 2007 8:49 pm

So before TriS went down Distracted suggested a filk challenge. And I said I could never refuse a filk challenge. And then the board went down and the whole thing disappeared Sad but here's my reply for the filk challenge

My sincere apologies to the word "quality".

I told you I couldn't resist a filk challenge. Here's one for the lumberjack song (I used Distracted's suggestion) >He's an Engineer<

Here's a quickie for "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head". Just because. I kept the original rhyming just for the heck of it. Twisted Evil It's kinda disturbing. Well that's what happens when you have pop-tarts for brain and you let your imagination run wild. >Click here< because I don't wanna spoil the title Twisted Evil

Aaaaaand yet another one for "Breathe (2am)" because that song is still stuck in my head. Thank you Distracted Rolling Eyes Razz >Breathe (4am)< gah that song is like totally evil. Like seriously a few nights ago I even had a dream where Distracted and Anna Nalick were conspiring against me (don't remember much of it except that Anna Nalick's name was spelled wrong on her name tag). Confused And now my own filk is stuck in my head and I keep filking even that. I could do this all day Confused

It's not really my fault that song's stuck in my head
It's Distracted who started it, blame her instead
'Cause it's so monotoneous and easy to mimic
So I realize I seem a bit OCD right now
But I just can't shake that damn melody
And I don't even know the original lyrics...

See?? I could go on like forever Confused Confused

I just get inspired way too easily Confused please let me know if that uh... stuff of mine qualifies for submitting to TriS being as demented as it is. For my defense I have a perfectly valid excuse for being demented because I was feverish when I wrote them. (Eh who am I kidding. It's a chronic condition Confused )

Just in case anyone's wondering: yeah I actually am capable of using bigger words and more sophisticated sentences and... writing stuff. I just chose not to Twisted Evil well it's just a habit I guess, because being through all the pain that I've been through in my life without being allowed to say anything I had to do something with all that pain or I'd go like totally mental, so I'd just channel it into creativity, so many times it would be like songs and filks, hell I've been writing those ever since I learned how to write Confused so I'd just write like a lot of bash/rant filks, totally sarcastic stuff that would ridicule my pain and anyone and anything that caused it etc just to keep sane... it was my silent mutiny because I didn't have an outlet otherwise. And I'd just write lots and lots of that stuff, in the language I use everyday so I guess filking kinda became second nature to me. Plus having to think in predetermined structures and patterns actually kinda helps me arrange the dyslexic mess of thoughts in my head.

The "Breathe" one is my favorite. It's fantastic. (Actually, so is the original, which I bought on iTunes.) And the last part about his brother addresses the niggling issue of where else he could've gone. Because really, Vulcan couldn't have been his only choice.

I know you didn't write it this way, but now I somehow can't seem to stop trying to picture him putting on women's clothing and hangin' out in bars. Shock
Writing as TrekPyro.

Hell, I'm not much for this kind of stuff, but I'll throw my hat in.

Just as a warning, this one is NOT for the kiddies to see. Be sure no eyes under 18 (or in other countries, 17) see this!!

It's based on "Smells Like Funk" By the Black-Eyed Peas.

What Trip would like to do to T'Pol after he finds out she picks Koss
over him.

A/N: Sorry to everyone who likes Black-Eyed Peas, this song, or in
general just finds this offensive, but with the lyrics this song was just askin' for it!!

Smell The ****
New:
Coming Home: Five+Epilogue
6.06: Fall Out

Coming This Christmas (December 2012): White Christmas
Hybrid: Prologue & Chapter One--Inspired by Aquarius's "Tag" challenge.

Shock

Thanks for joining the challenge. Uh... not really the kinda content that I go for... but thanks for sharing anyway. Sorry Embarassed this is not criticism. Just because I didn't enjoy it doesn't mean it's not good.

That'll teach me for ignoring an "adult content" warning Confused

My stars! How very...interesting. Laughing It's like listening to teenage boys talk on the bus. (I am stuck with public transportation.) They use the f-word as if it were punctuation.

I've been thinking aout the I'm an Engineer challenge, and its not the words I lack, its the twist. If you use the same twist as Monty Python, it goes all wahoonie-shaped. Trip in drag - well, there is that Ivymae cartoon of him as the tooth fairy...

an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Well... I used the sleep deprivation/mental deterioration in my filk... it's not exactly like a "twist" twist, but it works I guess Razz

Here's a very poorly done version of "New Age Girl" Razz

I've got a New Age girl (tell us what she's like)
A scientist girl (does she ride a bike?)
She has a crystal necklace (does she spend a lot of cash?)
Though her vibes are rather reckless (she's heading for a crash)

Oh her mind is always working on the next big thing
And she wonders without knowing where did we begin

Lady T'Pol, she's a vegetarian
(Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)
Lady T'Pol will outlive all the septuagenarians
(Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)
Oh she loves me so, she hates to be alone
She don't eat meat but she sure like the bone

You know, she does meditation (how does she like it?)
It doesn't get her far (why does she try it?)
But it gets her to where she's going
I don't know, I don't know where that is
I wish I knew
I don't know where she's going and I don't know where she's been
All I know that lovin' her has got to be a sin

Lady T'Pol, she's a vegetarian
(Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)
Lady T'Pol will outlive all the septuagenarians
(Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)
Oh she loves me so, she hates to be alone
She don't eat meat but she sure like the bone

Lady T'Pol, will you hesitate
Don't segregate your thoughts from your emotions
(Lady T'Pol)
I know devotion is way up high

Lady T'Pol, she's a vegetarian
(Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)
Lady T'Pol will outlive all the septuagenarians
(Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)
Lady T'Pol, she's an intellectual
(Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)
Lady T'Pol despite that fact remains quite sexual
(Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)

Lady T'Pol (Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)
Oh, Lady T'Pol (Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)
Lady T'Pol (Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)

She's the one for me, me oh (Lady T'Pol, Lady T'Pol)

Behold, the other reason Hoshi left nice, comfy Earth:

Yellow shirt: Say, Ensign, why did you join Starfleet?
Hoshi: It's two-thirds men, hallelujah, it's two-thirds men, he-ey-ey!

I'm sure you all guessed the tune for that one. Wink
