Trek's worst couples

Valentines day is coming up. We've got a poll on startrek.com for the "best couple" so here I thought it'd be fun to vote for the worst couple :D

I now it's a tough choice so I opened up the poll for 2 options per person.

Argh! This was really, really hard. They're all awful.

But I went with Spock/Uhura because I hate the Abramsverse and that coupling makes no sense.

And then Neelix/Kes because it was rather creepy, but they still kept it going for so long.

Whereas Chuckles/7of9 and Worf/Troi, while admittedly awful, just came out of left field at the very end and didn't really make us have to suffer through them for seasons.

Kira/Odo is the most acceptable as they at least tried to make it somewhat plausible (even if the failed). I used to call that aspect of Deep Space Nine DS 90210.

Spock/Uhura put the nail in the coffin of my love for classic Trek.

Why why why why why did they ever think that was ok?

And Kira/Odo.... I'm still trying to wrap my head around why a being who, in his most natural state is a bucket of goop, would want to "do it" with a humanoid. And then get any joy from it. You would think he'd get shit from the rest of his kind for being a sexual devient. In fact, if they played it like that, it might've been more plausible.

Neelix/Kes I came very close to voting for, but I ultimately voted C/7 because, apparently I block it from my memory until a season 7 episode pops up on my tv and I'm always like, oh shit! That happened...

I somehow manage to block that out of my memory. O the horror of it! (Why did you bring this up. Welcome back CoffeeCat).

Hahaha. Really, so unrealistic and plain wrong, Kai Winn and Gul Dukat.

Really? What good news? And did it have something to do with that new show Picard I happen to stumble on these days?

(Hubs and I are watching DS9 now and I was looking for some reviews from our Swedish friend KTR. Only to find that it was gone. But I found another review site with reviews of the new show Picard. Hubs: "I heard about that show. Me thinking "And you didn't tell me?" )

:banghead: I am not thrilled about that idea for lots of reasons. Besides, with a little good story telling you can make Seven and Kim work. :o

Hi there, sorry for the late reply, but it's been a while since I was here.

I actually didn't know my site had been taken down, but I'm not surprised. I used to pay automatically but then I switched credit cards so I guess they weren't able to draw the amount any more.

It's a pity, but I hadn't updated it in ages. Luckily my review thread is still here on this board: My DS9 reviews. I even have unfinished threads for my reviews of TNG and VOY, which I never bothered to put up on the now defunct website. Maybe I'll get back to finish reviewing some day. I may even get a new website, that's updated. We'll see...

As far as Picard and Discovery are concerned, the less said the better. In my mind, they aren't canon.

Thank you so much! And I can only encourage you to start writing reviews again. I noticed your ENT reviews haven't been finished and I am dying to hear what your opinion about ENT episodes are. :hatsoff:

Thanks! :D I know I have to finish those too eventually... Sigh!

I haven't watched Trek in a while. You'd think I'd have more time now, what with the bearbug and all, but I'm still working, and not even from home. I'd have to get in the mood and mindset, but I'm too easily distracted. We'll see.
