Or as this artist calls it, the 1701-nil.5. These are renders of a revised TOS Enterprise which the artist deg3D is working on over at SciFi-Meshes. Here is his development thread. I tried to pick out just a few of the highlights, but I ended up with seven because this ship looks great from every angle.
^This is a test render, BTW, so the texturing isn't really final on her yet.
With all the drastic redesigns that have been popping up lately because of the new movie coming out, I've been wishing for a while that I could make 3D models myself, so I could do my own take on it, but I happened to see this over at SFM and couldn't help but get excited about it, because aside from a few details, he's basically done everything I would've done. To begin with, the concept, which is to say keeping 99% of the proportions and old lines, and detailing the hell out of the old girl the way she deserves to be. In essence, making the ship fit in better with the more realistic versions we've become used to seeing, while retaining the design itself. Sort of like we could pass off what was seen in the '60s as just the limitations of the filming technology - like the old cameras just couldn't pick up the details that had been there all along, know what I mean? If you ask me, this is the ship they should've used for the TOS remastered, and in the new movie.
Anyway, I can't rave enough about this ship, and if you like what you see here, you might want to venture over to this development thread to see more. And be sure to give him some feedback too, because I'm sure he'll be looking in on this thread occasionally.

It looks nice and all, but what's the gas mileage?
"Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."

Beautiful! She's gorgeous.
It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Yes!
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.
But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I like it too. Even though it is mostly like what you conceived, CX, make your own renderings too. You might come up with something better!
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.
