R/S: Why?

UM I don't get it. Steven Culp isn't gay as far as I know. So what does having chemistry have to do with sexuality? I mean Rock Husdon and Doris Day had chemistry and I don't like either of them.

I don't know if he's gay either, I just think they had a lot of chemistry on screen. But mostly I think it came from what I saw on that video, or somewhere. Who knows, maybe I dreamed it, but at some point I became convinced DK was gay. It hardly matters anyway. As you noted, it didn't hurt ol' Rock Hudson's chemistry with the babes any.

Okay, forgive the double post, but it wasn't hard to find DK saying "Wasn't he gay? God knows I played him gay." I suppose that still doesn't say anything about whether DK is gay, but I don't honestly care. Check it out about two thirds along the interview:

Well Paul Newman and Robert Redford had chemistry to burn as well. The pop culture reference is termed a Bromance a deep realtionship between two heterosexual males. Now I don't care if actors are gay or not, not my business. BUT so far Malcolm hasn't been outted as gay. So a bromance could fit his relationship with Hayes. Just a thought. And do you know if he was being serious? Gay is also a slang term for messed up. I know it used to drive me nuts when the ex boyfriend used it.

Slang term for being messed up? Brutal insult hurled freely by adolescent males at each other as they (sometimes quite nervously) sort out their own sexual identities, that's what I would call it. And yeah, it's crept into the lingo in a lighter, more ironic way. But I kind of doubt an actor would use it that way in an interview.

But I don't know Dominic and I don't know anything about him that he hasn't said in interviews.

Woah I didn't coin the term. I find it annoying. Thankfully the ex never used it in association with people. Objects mostly.

I know. It just really bugged the hell out of me as a high school teacher, watching them attack each other so casually all the time, knowing that probably a few of those kids really were gay or at least worrying about whether they were. The only good thing was that it was so commonplace it probably lost its effect.

Teens are irritating fact of life. Back to Malcolm and Hoshi, I really thought the episode where he let's Hayes go get her from the Xindi was really heartbreaking. I mean you knew he wanted to go, and then when Hayes dies... Ouch! I look forward to delving into the frey eventually in my own fic.

Yeah, you had the feeling they might finally make some really good use of Malcolm in Season 3 -- definitely some of his best moments. Hoshi too, towards the end. And then it just kind of petered out.

Typical for the whole series actually. You get some amazing moments, then crap, then amazing moments, then *the_abomination*!

Malcolm's inability to let people get close to him (as mentioned in Shuttlepod One, was it?) -is this why he appeared to know waitresses but had no major person he'd left behind?

Is this why he seemed so impressed/touched by Hoshi's birthday cake? Cos he didn't expect or envision someone could put themselves out for him?

Well yeah. That and the factthat not even his own parents or sister knew his favorite food and she found out somehow. That takes covert skills, and secreat agent man Malcolm was impressed by that too.

I didn't understand how the writers could make him tough and practical one minute and a drama queen the next. But honestly Malcolm's number one most awsome attribute his love of blowing stuff up!!!! That's just sexy in fiction, in real life it depends on the cirumstances. That's why I was hooked on R/S when she told him to blow all of those Klingon torpedoes. I thought to myself... "Ooooh now THAT has potential" too bad they both got shafted.

Yeah, that was GREAT!! I remember thinking "Oooh, I hope they do more with this!" and then being disappointed when they didn't.

Stop the presses! I think that's the first time we've agreed in over a month!!! Feels good. I also thought he was pretty torn up when she was captured by the Xindi, and I don't think he liked it when Archer took her on that mission when she was still in a coma. Just me though.

We'll always have fanfic, though. I especially like ShiShi's 'Protector' series.
