Okay, so there's a nice big laundry room on Enterprise - the question remains, who does the laundry, and who doesn't. :dunno:

The schematics are great, but I did notice a few things. And these are MAJOR nitipicking, I'll admit.

1. Hoshi's quarters are slightly larger than T'Pol's.

2. On the show T'Pol's quarters were always shown at the end of a hallway.

3. There are several really big VIP quarters on the ship. Why would Hoshi have to give hers to the Vulcan Ambassador when she came on board?

Question for the veterans here - what exactly does a quartermaster do?

Well I would guess that they have laundry staff of enlisted personel kind of like the stewerds who serve dinner only for house keeping.

A Quatermaster is the person responible for all the creature comforts, uniforms, and other clothing on bases or ships. Ciggerates (BAD), booze, (which technically isn't allowed on a ship) cards, uniforms, undies, socks, condoms (sometimes). Think of it as a whole convenience store. You can't get anything to write home about. But everyday mundane little necessities and a few luxuries that you don't need but will keep from going nuts. In theory at least.

I reckon the quartermaster on Enterprise has to whip up those outfits when they need to fit in on alien planets, too.

Yep, I think Archer specifically referred to the Quartermaster in "Civilization."

Wouldn't it be fun if the Quartermaster was someone very fashion oriented, like Clinton Kelly or Stacy London from TLC's "What Not to Wear?" ( I love Clinton. Brutally honest but sweet, too. ) Maybe that's who came up with all those FABULOUS designs for T'Pol's uniforms. Whoever it is, they would have to sew.

Clinton ROCKS! Stacy needs duct tape put over her mouth. But I always like to think that the quatermaster on Enterprise who just happens to like being a tailor or seamstress. Did they really think they'd need alien clothing to blend in? I'm not sure that was a detailed plan given in command school in the beginning. But in general the quatermaster's position is basically taking care of mundane stuff. Like shampoo, soap, and razor blades.

About the laundry it could be that there is staff for uniforms, sheets, towles, and Starfleet issue garments, personal clothing might have to be done by the owner. Poor T'Pol she might have to do all of her own stuff. :D

Yeah, but you've gotta figure those catsuits can't be washed with everything else. Probably hand-wash only.

Forget the catsuits her undies have to be tough. You can tell me she actually waers tanks and shorties I don't care what they show on screen. Anyway whoever does the laundry I find the normalacy of it intriguing.

Neither stayed until morning. They were back on duty during the night, Trip in engineering and T'Pol on the Bridge, when the alarm sounded after the sphere builder guy escaped from sickbay. So they must have left her quarters before the alert.

Thanks for filling in the blanks, I wonder in what state and what they were saying (or not), when they left her quarters.
About T'Pol quarters being smaller then Hoshi's: in the beginning T'Pol isn't very welcome and she is like the last person to join the crew. So maybe they have given her the least popular quarters, but T'Pol doesn't mind, because they are quiet. She also has to do her own laundry, because she has special clothes. Gives her time to think about the strange crew she is now travelling with and build up a relationship with the quatermaster. Maybe he is the one suggesting that she is going to wear something different at the beginning of season 3.

You do realize that someone is eventually going to have to do something with these laundry ideas.
