Vulcan geography
In Home and the Vulcan arc, we've seen of heard about different locations on Vulcan: The Forge, Fire Plains, Mount Seleya, Mount Tar'hana, the capital city... My question is, are all those locations close to each others or far apart? For example, are the Fire Plains in The Forge or close to it? Is T'Les home nearby the capital city or another one? What's the name of the capital city?
I need some Vulcan experts here.

Re: Vulcan geography
Capital city of Vulcan is ShirKahr (various spellings of same). There was only one 'map' of Vulcan that I ever saw and it was on the now defunct Soval's Annex board. Selek put it there. He has his own Soval site:

You could ask Selek for that map. Otherwise, I think all the place names on Vulcan that we have heard about are in the 'northern' hemisphere on the same side of the planet. There is a novel 'Spock's World' by Diane Duane which describes the geography of Vulcan somewhat. But the novel is not canon.

Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Thank you!
But where's the Forge on the map? Is it somewhere between Mount Seleya and the Llangon Mountains?

That's a lot more water than I would have expected.

an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

I think the map scale isn't very accurate, but the global locations are. If you look at it, the Fire Plains should be maybe five times if not more bigger than the Grand Canyon. I don't remember them being that big on screen. Besides, there was a good overall view of Vulcan, the planet, at the beginning of The Forge and you could only see two small bodies of water.

The Vulcan script is beautiful. Sigh. Do you have one like that from the scene where the Kirshara is opened?

This one? I agree. That map has too much water compared to what was shown onscreen.Lys wrote:Besides, there was a good overall view of Vulcan, the planet, at the beginning of The Forge and you could only see two small bodies of water.

^ Note a third body of water to Enterprise's top right. Kinda hidden by the glow from the atmosphere

Here is one. Just look through their site.
And here is a close-up of one of the major lakes.

Lovely. I see a chain of islands there. Islands say fishermen to me.
