The preferred format seems to be little 2 page choppy chapters and lots of dialogue, leaving expressions and such to the imagination of the readers, who, of course, being diehard fans of the series one is writing about, have no need of such niceties to visualize the scene.

That's not what I want to write, so I'm moving on. If anybody else wants to tackle this month, though, here are the requirements and prizes for Romance Month, AKA "Sex in the City" Month.

HR? You up for it? I'll comment you. :D

Nope. Nopity nope nope. I'm done at that place.

If you please, save your comment for the next chapter of Redivivus, if I can ever get the dang thing done. Speaking of which... *off to get a little more written*

Forget that place. Let people know what you would consider winners. The only rule is you can't mention your own work. My stories are not in the running, and I'll do a count and announce winners if I can figure out how. If anybody really wants to do this, check the categories, add any that are missing, and I'll set up a new strand and put on a deadline. I think the discussion it generates might be fun. My only question is whether we should limit this to stories posted on TS. That would give it a built-in limit for when stories were posted.

Then again, you can ignore all this. God knows I have other things I should be doing, like mowing the fricking lawn.

Oh  This sounds funny!
But it's too hard.
I must think a little bit.
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Wow. That's a hell of a lot of categories,Alelou... and a lot of work. I'm sort of discouraged by the whole "Argentinian teenager's Smallville fic getting 22 comments in 24 hours" thing, though.

Yep. That's right. The winner wasn't even a native English speaker. You can even tell at points in the story, although her command of English is quite impressive.

I guess the question now is, does anybody even care what we think? Enterprise has been cancelled for years now. We're the last diehard remnant of a fanbase that's long since moved on. I think you're right. We've all got better things to do. I don't think you should waste your time on a "best of" listing for the benefit of the two dozen or so of us who care.

Sorry to burst your bubble, dear. I'm just trying to be realistic. :?

It says she's a 37 year old English teacher from Argentina http://www.myfandoms.com/profile.php?us ... t_url=true

Does anyone else think CoffeeCat should put her latest creation in the Sex in the City art contest, just for the heck of it?

Yes, but she'll need to be careful about which ones she enters. They specifically said they don't want porn. 8)

Hmmm. A random drawing for everyone that posts anything, basically? I'm intrigued by the LOTR script, but this contest's like a raffle. You enter and then cross your fingers. No skill required, apparently, except the ability to write coherently in English for at least one page for the fanfic entries, or to come up with something vaguely constructive in a comment. It sounds like the art and vid requirements are even less stringent. They say that any post qualifies. It doesn't even specify that the art has to be original. :?

This is peculiar. I guess a lot of people complained that their previous contest requirements were too strict, but this is just plain ridiculous. "The more things you submit, the greater your chance to win." Hmmm. I suppose I could just import all 39 of my stories from fanfic.net. It would be an awful lot of work, though, and some kid who submits 39 one page drabbles would have the same chance to win.

Guess I'll pass. I've got a phase rifle to construct. No time to waste. 8)

Yeah. I mean like why not do something in the middle that everyone can enter but the winners are still chosen based on quality. :?

Crazy :? :dunno:
