I am here in the Promised Land: where both X-Files and Twilight were filmed. I am stayng in the glowing cylindrical house from the pictures and there is an impossibly tall pine tree in the backyard like the one Edward flew to the top of with Whats-Her-Face, you know, the girl. I met two random Canadians on the way on the layover and both of them were like THE SILENCE! THE WHALES! THE COMMUNINING WITH NATURE! I TOTALLY LOVE KYAKING! So this is a totally nornal thing to do in Canada. OK!!!! HERE WE GO!!!!

Hey, isn't it lucky that eK chose such an appropriate login name?

I hope our two whale-huggers haven't been eaten yet by wild-life. Let us know when you're back, girls

Re: JustTripn & eK venture into the watery wolfy wilderness!
OK, I will try to tell this story even though my mind is all gummy, lol . . . It was AMAZING!!!! It was like Giligans Island or something. We kept landing on different Giligan's Islands, each with a sandy beach and a rocky part and a foresty part. The water in the bay was swimming pool color and filled with outrageous starfish. We also saw hordes of hermit crabs, oysters, sea anenome, bald eagles, a SEAL!!!! (no whales but we heard them snorting). ek is SO wonderful and encouraging (oh right! I was supposed to be encouraging her). Nevertheless she is a beam of sunshine.
OH! OH! YOUR WILL NEVER BELIEVE, the first night ek and I were talking about fanfiction, of course, and one of our camping neighbors comes over and says, "I heard you talking about fanfiction. I'm in the business." And we go "What business." And he says, "I'm a sci fi TV show writer." SWEAR TO GOD. Next week he begins work on "Out of Time." Then his friend goes, "And I'm going to film it." He was a 3D cimemotagrapher!!!!!!! OMG!!!!Of course we began bowing to them right there on the beach and promising to start a fanfic website just for their next project, lol . . . Both of them had already worked on Fringe and one on a movie called "The Boy Who Smells Like Fish." Anyway . . . . I told them I was tempted to expand on this story and report that J. J. Abrams was with them on the island researching a sequel to "Lost." They said that was fine because they were were going expand on their story to report that each island they stopped on was full of lesbians, lol . . . BUT . . . OK, here are some pictures:

Re: JustTripn & eK venture into the watery wolfy wilderness!
How about this for amazing: A brave and fearless editor from PA is plucked up and flown thousands of miles to meet up with a canadian internet subversive who then drives her hundreds more miles into the watery woods, and said editor simply jumps in a kayak for the 1st time in her brave fearless life and starts a-paddlin'. First day we did something like 8 miles and she just paddled and paddled through the waves and the swells unitl we reached our teeny destination in the middle of nowhere and then she proceeds to drag her boat up the beach and set up tents and eat my vegetarian cookin (brave!) and not ONCE did she falter. Coulda joined Starfleet, Ann could. She was the most amazing part!

Anyways, good to hear you had a good time. Welcome back to the civilized world, ladies

we're spreading the collective jealousy on this side of the Atlantic as well sounds like an awesome trip, wish we could've made it (Star and I), and we're glad to hear eK didn't ritualistically dismember everyone with her Wiccan implements of DOOM

Glad to hear that you had a good time. What an amazing coincidence to find those two, though. And looking at it from their point of view, what're the chances of two blokes out in the middle of nowhere meeting up with two gorgeous ladies who just happened to be sci-fi fans?
