I forgot to report that some weeks ago I tried a chicken Chilie recipy from Giada De Laurentis. I didn't do it perfectly, because I didn't print out the recipy because my internet was down. So I made some mistakes. BUT two teen-aged boys who are notoriously picky eaters had seconds, so I count it as a success. I'm sure it would have tasted better with onions. All in all I recommend it for people looking to do an alternative to traditional chilie. It's much lighter and healthier, great for summer.

Well I don't know if it did or not since I haven't tried again yet. Only I do know that I shouldn't have used Ancho Chilie powder, I should have used regular... It was too strong even for me, and I eat raw Habenero's on occasion.

Reminds me of how on the Food Channel they have shows about those eating contests, right? Like the hotdog eating contests--why is it always the skinny Asian kid that always wins, any way???

But I digress...

In one of these shows, they had a hot sauce eating contest. It was mostly frat boys, but these guys were just guzzling this stuff down...sometimes ending up in the hospital because the stuff was tearing them up so bad! Now, I'm all for giving my food some flavor--I don't mind if it has a kick to it. But THAT?? That's just crazy! :wtf:

Well I've only done the pepper thing once and it was really all my uncle's fault. He shouldn't have called me a sissy and dared my Pops that I would cry and snivel like a whiny baby. I had to do it for my Pops to show them I was not a weak ninny. Besides I LOVE hot food the hotter the better provided it has other flavors. And anyway the day I was going to let that drunken loser disrespect me is the day I will no longer be breathing.

If he was such a drunken loser I would've told him to cook his own dinner.

I would have but I wasn't cooking dinner that night Grandma was (not that she can cook) :upchuck: Seriously she can't. Besides I objected to him calling me weak. Besides I like hot things, I eat wasabe without sushi whenever I can. For my next culinary adventure I'm thinking Ina Garten's Butternut Squash Risotto...

Sorry for the double but I figured out how to make bacon HEALTHY, ladies and gents... The BLT salad, Lettuce Tomatoe, Bacon, Blue Cheese. Healthy because it's a salad, and bacon in the vinagrette. Not even Ellie Kreager the healthy food chef on Food network can object. Cool right?

Sounds good, but I don't know if I can do BLT without mayonnaise. With me, everything's just an excuse for mayonnaise.

Though I admit there are other things I'll cook just as an excuse for the bacon. (Ziti armitriciana chief among them.)

You know Alelou I was going to make Blue Cheese bacon mayo dressing, but I'm trying to be healthier. Not because of wieght or anything, I'm too skinny as it is. But because I was craving vinager. What does that mean?

No idea, but if you're too skinny then for goodness' sake enjoy the salad dressing you want.

The vinegar in the mayonnaise actually makes it rather good at preserving things. Tuna fish salad with mayonnaise in it lasts longer than just plain tuna.

I'm 5' 6 1/2'' inches tall and 110lbds. Doc says I have to be at least 115 before he fixes the leg that makes my life a living HELL. I should eat the dressing, but man I wanted just red wine vinager and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. And I hate Rachel Ray because of her onion fetish so I will not use the inane abbreviation.

Now see, I'm always paranoid about mayonnaise getting spoiled. :wtf:
