Starwatcher's Coming to Town!

For those of you who might remember her, Starwatcher's been around in a lurking-to-semi-lurking-to-full-blown-hardcore-shipper capacity ever since the old HoT and I think even TrekBBS days. She's natively from the UK but she's been working as a fellow at the Library of Congress this year, and we've been very good friends for a long time so she's coming to visit little old Fearless Leader in Illinois since it's just a minor puddle jump

There shall be lots of nerdy sci fi watching and picture taking and the like

ur funny Dis! I just got home from dropping her off at the airport. Great weekend! I'll post the few pictures we managed tomorrow morning, but we had a blast. Oh, she's 27. PhD in American History from Liverpool.

Oooo! Oooo! *bounces up and down in her seat while raising her hand* Can I come to the wedding?!! Can I? Can I, huh?

Hmmm . . . . Kind of reminds me of "Home." I mean what's a few lightyears if you want to go visit a friend?

Here's One I took with my phone there are two others on my camera my mom took.

It was a really great time - she came here to Urbana and stayed here Thursday and Friday night (we watched lots of movies, no star trek bc there was so much to watch - but talked about it obviously!) and then we went to my mom's for Saturday day/evening - had a really amazing dinner that Star was really happy with (because she's british and their beef is very expensive so steak is a real delicacy to her - course in the midwest it's a foodgroup!) and then headed back for a nice long 7 hour drive back to the airport on Sunday!

Well like I told Ann we were having so much fun and had so many movies packed into our schedule we just didn't have time to stop and take a lot of photos but we did get one more at my house in Jeff:

My mom sucks with my camera though

but we had a great time and I learned why "Doghouse" and "Pride and Prejudice" are staples of British cinema (I also happily subjected myself to "Enchanted" and "27 Dresses" if you can believe that!)

Hey! "Enchanted" is a good movie. Not nearly as good as "Ella Enchanted", but still. I couldn't sit through "Pride and Predjudice", though. I fell asleep.
