Not in New York. I just watched the ball drop. It's another 48 minutes for us here in LA, though. Time for egg nog. :D

A toast (and an old Irish blessing):

May the new year bring
The warmth of home and hearth to you.
The cheer and goodwill of friends to you,
The hope of a childlike heart to you.
The joy of a thousand angels to you,
The love of family and God's peace to you.

Well even though I'm on the west coast, we have done New Year's already. At around 6 pm we switched all the clocks ahead 3 hours and did new year at 9 pm for the 5 year old. We watched the new York footage. She was so excited. Now she's in bed.

You're not going to believe this:

That's my little P. the foreign exchange student. (P. is a nickname, her real name is listed and spelled right!) She went downtown with her friends to celebrate the New Year and ended up on the front page of the Post Gazette on New Year's Day.

I don't know if she is the luckiest foreign exchange student ever or if she makes her own luck. She's already met three of the Penguins, including Sydney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, her heros. And she's going to the Winter Classic hockey game today.

Frohes neues Jahr aus Deutschland :D

On a happier note, they reduced my medication last week, so I'm not foggy-minded for most of the day anymore :happyjump:

We watched our neighbours fireworks (people here are very fond of them) for about 15 minutes... And I may include another Irish blessing for 2011:

May there always be work for your hands to do.
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine on your windowpane.
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near to you.
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

I hope the best for all of you!
