A small request for a good cause

Postby krn » Mon Sep 24, 2007 3:35 pm

For the past 3 years, my Dad had sponsored a White Tiger at the "Exotic Feline Rescue Center" near Terre Haute, IN. Her name is INDIA and she's blind. Joe Taft (the founder) has provided her with a clean safe home and will do so till she passes of natural causes. Joe provides homes for up to 200 of these cats. Some of the stories behind these animals are sad to say the least. Recently, Joe and the EFRC is one of ten finalists to be considered for the Animal Planet "Cat Hero Of The Year" award. There were over 4000 nominations for this award.

Peoples Choice voting will begin on Sept 25 and run through Oct 8, 2007. You can help by going to their web-site <www.animalplanet.com> and VOTE FOR JOE TAFT.

Dad is a really big supporter of this place - he's asking everyone he knows to vote for Joe. So I, in turn, am asking everyone I know to help too.

If youre interested in the Center, go to <www.exoticfelinerescuecenter.com>

Thanks everyone!!!

Oh, that's a wonderful organization. I had to check it out (but it's http://www.exoticfelinerescuecenter.org) and I will vote for them. It's so sad that most of these magnificent creatures were abused or neglected. :( I read the cat biographies, finding again and again a private owner who couldn't/wouldn't take good care of the animal. I like tigers - they're gorgeous - but I know better than to think I could take care of one! The meat bill alone would be outrageous. Ha. And I think my nine-pound Persian fluffball's Friskies adds up...

thanks JZK for the correct link - that's what I get for not checking. :?

And thanks to everyone who votes! Joe's facility is really great for the cats - a little more exposure and money will go a long way for him!

I'm not seeing a Joe Taft on the finalist page.

NEW Edit: Looks like Joe misread his letter. It said he was being "Considered" as a finalist.

I do appreciate everyone who was going to help out Joe and cast their vote. Sorry for all the trouble!
