Dunno if that's fair. A lot of us authors are readers, too, y'know. Maybe an objective 3rd party who's not an author might be willing to take over the task of deciding which order recommended stories go in, and anybody can recommend them. Any volunteers wanna do the refereeing?

Too complicated. If it bogs down with rules nothing will get done. Just throw them out there and lets get to jawing.

Or we could just pick a story from whatever the weekly classics are, and discuss those... Then the story will be there (linked or whatever) on the fanfic page, front and center, for people to click on and read again...

Just a thought.
Was this the army that invaded your country, ma'am? No, officer, they were taller than that...

How about this one? I'm not sure--get them to march up and down a bit...

Sounds good. Who picks the "weekly classics"?

Jedikatie sounds like a good idea having a story front and center so everyone can read and discuss it I like the idea of Trip and T'Pol classics it has a nice ring to it. Very Happy

Well, I put that up there, but for now it was just gonna be me... but that's not set in stone. If we could setup some kind of vote in the near future, that'd be fine by me.

You doing it is fine by me. I guess if someone feels really strongly about a story to be included then they can always drop you a line, right?

Aww, that's a shame! Sad I could do with some more cash and I could've freed some space in my sig.

I am a councilor at Battlestargalacticaclub.com. We have the stories listed and a second posting for comments. Ussually we get positive feedback and sometimes some great ideas how to move forward. The seperation allows the story to flow and the comments to be all in order for the reader. Just a thought.

Firestar, I see your point, but what we're talking about here is providing opportunities to comment on stories which are already completed and archived. The discussion then would be about things like whether we thought the author did the characters justice or whether the plot turns were believable. Besides, almost all of us are HoT graduates, so changing the format from the way it was done over there for stories in progress would just confuse us. Can't teach an old dog and all that.... Wink

Speaking of which... what do you guys think of "Cheese and Other Interesting Smells"? It's a cute little fic, but seems an odd choice for the first round of "greatest hits". Why do you think Elessar picked that one? Just because it was so unique, maybe? I have to admit that it's one of the strangest POV fics I've read, and it's certainly funny.
