That's what this thread and its previous incarnation are for. You can set your preferences to get notified by email if any thread you've previously posted on gets a new post, so if you post on this thread...voila. Automatic new fanfic notification. I think JT may have come up with the idea, or maybe Elessar. Whoever did, it's brilliant.

In MY day, we had to go online to learn if any new stories had posted, this after walking four miles through the snow to school and back, uphill in both directions.

Sorry, but just had to. This 'uphill in both directions' thing was the favorite quote of my dad, whenever someone bitched about the absence of some new-fangled convenience

Don't know about uphill both ways but I was always given a capful of whisky as I left for school. Every kid in my class got one. Damned roof floated first thing in the monring from the kids breating. good time was had by all.. Oh yes, snow, Asshole deep to a ten foot giant.
