With Tom being the Methuselah of the forum, I guess it was inevitable that this day would come. Here I am fighting tears about a person I never met in real life. Thankfully the wise ol' fella has been quite productive, so he'll live on in his stories.

Since Asso seems to have contact with Tom's relatives, maybe he can help us expressing our condolences once the grim reaper has gone about his business.

That's sad news. I've been missing his presence around here for a while and feared the worst. I hope that having a group of friends online has been good for him - I know that I've enjoyed his writing and his irascible presence.

Unfortunately I have to express myself this way - has been - because Tom is decaying mentally and physically and is in the throes of a devastating and more and more severe dementia.
