Re: What are you...

Watching Man vs. Wild . Bear Grillis just did naked pushups (this is the 3rd ep I've seen him do this) in the middle of a patagonian ice field. Sometimes I think he just jumps into freezing lakes because he likes to strip down and do that. At least it's not naked jumping jacks... (and at least he's ...

Re: The Happy News thread

Thanks to the cold weather, I've finally had the chance to wear my favorite hat these past two days. It's not just any hat but a hat. Green wool cloche with a silk velvet ribbon and silk flower embellishment. I love that hat. I rhapsodize over that hat. I look good in that hat. I know it's just a ha...

Re: short fic challenge: How Mary Sue Saves Enterprise!

“A wise choice,” conceded Commander T’pol. That was quite the turnaround, as two days before she had adamantly opposed allowing a seventeen-year old from 2007 access to restricted systems. I had forgotten about the "time travelling genius from now" Mary Sue! Love it! :D These are al...

Re: short fic challenge: How Mary Sue Saves Enterprise!

Okay, I'm game. I'm off the word count by 34 words, but, in true Mary-Sueness, was unable to cut back anymore. All misspellings are intentional (and if they weren't, they are now!): Paradigm of the Heart (a Mary Sue Adventure) By Emberchyld Rating: G Ensign Maree-Sioux Rayvenn pushed her waist-lengt...

RE: Makeup. A lot of us (I won't say most, because I am not sure. But all the men I personaly know) don't pay any attention to makeup unless you cake it on thick enough to look like you are painting camo to prepare for a night mission. ... Were you wearing something that let him check out your figu...

Re: The Whine thread.

:( A short while back, I had been on a few dates with this one guy... we got along really well, but then we had the worst luck-- missed calls, crossed schedules (on both sides), and then he moved to a competitive company. Because we're competitive, we really couldn't talk much (think about it... a l...

Re: The Whine thread.

The best had to be the one I heard about a US airways flight-- toilets broke mid-flight (3 hrs into a 6 hr flight) and they TURNED AROUND to get the toilets repaired. This was told to me by a fellow passenger on USairways as we were waiting 2 hrs for our toilets to be fixed before takeoff (he flew t...

Re: The Happy News thread

E2 was cancelled because the execs at NBC wanted to take season 2 and totally mess up the premise... make it "better". Characters would have been added, characters would have been revamped, and their overall plans were bad. It wasn't cool/sexy enough. It forced people to thing. So they wan...

Re: The Happy News thread

Yay Earth 2!

It's sad that it ran for only one season, but when I found out the reason for the cancellation, I was glad. At least the show's writers/producers cared enough about the show to have it killed rather than turn it into a farce.

And I'm curious about the who played Uli, too!

Re: Randomness

CX is right about the idea some people have of fanfic writers as a bunch of teenagers who can't really write. I've never claimed to be the world's best writer, but I'm not some entirely unskilled teenager girl who writes Mary Sues where I beat out T'pol for Tripp's affections, can cure more ailment...

What a beautiful history and family, JT! I've always believed that there's nothing like letters-- esp when it comes to relationships. Too bad those are slowly disappearing. Did you save your letters? And Bether, your daughter's pictures are remarkably well-done for an 11 year old! (Maybe she can be ...

Re: The Whine thread.

Had an interesting set of flights today (on my way to 'Frisco for a work meeting). Both flights were delayed on the way here: 1. First flight was because we were waiting for a flight attendant. Apparently, her flight was delayed and we couldn't board until she got there. I was not happy when they st...

Re: What are you...

Still humming the music from Enchanted . Saw it last night and I think I'll want to see it again-- what a funny, cute, silly movie. Disney was able to poke fun at itself and NYC ("somewhere where there are no happy endings") without being cheesy. If you do go, don't get spoiled by the revi...

Ekayak, what a lovely view. I'm jealous.

Also, can you come over and clean my bathroom? Pretty please? You're a miracleworker.
