Just finished watching 2012.
It's a terrible film - but, it's soooo bad it's actually kind of good.
John Billingsley's 'scientist with integrity' is pretty watchable.

Re: The Happy News thread
Thanks for all the kind words guys! They want me to start in two weeks. So, assuming my referees don't assassinate my character it should all be fine.... :? Now I just have to find somewhere to live :explode: Alelou, I'm not going to give out my exact location. But, somewhere in there you hit the na...

Re: The Happy News thread
Visit on the weekends? No, not without a very long train-ride Alelou! So, it's just not worth it. I'll try to return a couple of times a year, though. This is my home-town. My parents still live here, so do a lot of old school friends. But, standing on the edge of such a change... I feel really ener...

Re: The Happy News thread
I have some very happy news.... I've just been offered a new job!! It's for a company that I've wanted to work for pretty much my entire life.... no exaggeration! So, it was the only interview I've ever felt slightly nervous about. It involves a move to London which is another big plus. Both my sist...

Trek Avatars/Pics That Freak You Out
Just found a site with a whole heap of Trek pictures that really shocked me. Some were hilarious... some were quite ... erm... unique. Anyway, thought I'd post a couple of the more memorable offerings. Let me know if you've come across anything similarly share-worthy... http://i743.photobucket.com/a...

Re: The Theory Behind A Human/Vulcan Child
:evilmonkey: Well, fornicating with chimps aside.... (he, he!) I've been wracking my brains to remember if there were any human/alien surprise pregnancies.... For some reason Tom Paris and B'elanna Torres vaguely spring to mind. But, she was half-human... so that might not count :duh: I think you ma...

Re: The Theory Behind A Human/Vulcan Child
Wow, it all suddenly made sense.... until Distracted's post, that is.
Does this mean that there's just no way a vulcan and a human could conceive without medical intervention (never mind carrying the baby to term)?

Re: "The Understanding"
It isn't productive or constructive to keep ragging on an author over something they're not likely to change, especially when it transcends expressing an opinion or disagreeing and crosses the line into interfering with the enjoyment of the people who do like it. I don't see the expression of hones...

Re: "The Understanding"
There are quite a few things at this site (just as at any other site on the planet) that aren't my cup of tea. But I never felt compelled to announce that I'm not reading them. I just simply (discreetly) don't read them . If I can't gush on about how much I like a story, then I at least like to be ...

The iPad
Okay, it's 2010... I didn't get my personal rocket backpack, my hovercar or my wardrobe of silver jumpsuits to keep me warm on a moon colony somewhere. But, is anyone else really impressed by the look of Apple's iPad? Athestically speaking, it's a major step up from a Starfleet pad. But, I'm also wi...

She's in charge, Ezinma . When the buck stops with you it's a mite stressful. Believe me. I know this. :? Indeed, it is often stressful being in charge Distracted . But that's the only thing you've said that I agree with. I'm sure Parker Selfridge, the mining operation's corporate administrator, wa...

Re: Avatar *Here there be spoilers*
Those would all be fair points if all the characters were chuffing away/snorting snuff/or otherwise indulging in 'bad' habits. But, Grace was the ONLY person I saw doing so.
