Re: Personality Test

IFNJ Counselors have an exceptionally strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others, and find great personal fulfillment interacting with people, nurturing their personal development, guiding them to realize their human potential. Although they are happy working at jobs (such as writing) that...

Re: Status and Support

Chapter 5 of Unexpected Too is off to my wonderful betas. Only one more chapter and an epilogue to go with that one. Dark Echoes is coming slowly. Not as quickly as I would like, but that's because I'm putting everything I've got into it. Dah'es (next -- and probably final -- TnT installme...

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!

@Misplaced: About the Avatar, I'd really, really appreciate any help you could give me. Data's my absolute favourite character, but if I have to stay in keep with my own gender I'd like something with Worf's mate, K'eylar (not sure about the correct spelling here). I always liked her whenever she a...

Off Topic...panyasan the avatar looks great. Misplaced did a wonderful job :happyjump: Now continue and pretend I wasn't here. :raspberry: Aw shucks... I didn't do much other than crop it and tweak the contrast. You get full credit for making the awesome drawing in the first place!

Re: Status and Support

I spent the last 17 days traveling up north (made the circuit from Kandahar to Bagram to Kabul International Airport to Camp Phoenix to Camp Eggers to Kabul International to Bagram and finally back to Kandahar). I'm beat, but it's good to be back in my old, familiar stomping grounds. While I was go...

Re: New Fanfic Up!

Hey gang-- There are a couple of things in the box, I know, and I will endeavor to get them up before my shift is over tomorrow. Elvis is at the vet overnight, his diabetes has kicked into opposite-gear, and his kidney values are way too high, so they're keeping him overnight. I'm basically too muc...

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!

SB -- I agree that there seemed to be a lot more science in science-fiction than there are these days. Bradbury doesn't have that same quality in his work, but I loved how his stories were commentaries on the human condition and how advanced technology might affect us. At times he was even slightly ...

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!

Love Heinlein and Asimov. I actually think it's hard to find Sci-fi writers of that caliber these days as the genre seems to have changed a bit. I did find one author that does work up to that standard (at least in my opinion): John C. Wright. The first book in his Golden Age trilogy, especially, is...

Re: The Upsetting News Thread

I don't think it's ever easy to watch someone you love throw away their life, especially after you have done everything you can to help them find a way. I know this isn't an easy decision, but you'll find your way. And maybe she needs to find hers, mistakes and all.

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!

I never read Winnie the Pooh for myself, only to my kids. I think it's excellent for children but my little ones grow out of it by the time they reach school age. I was reading Ray Bradbury by the time I was 10 years old, Stephen King just a couple years later (though he's not one of my favorites). ...

Re: Status and Support

Wild guess, your name is Theresa???????? My mother spells it without the "h." And people tell her she spells it wrong. John and Jon are actually a little different. Since you don't breath a slight "h" before the "n." But both "o's" are short. I have never see...
