Re: New Game: Interview the Next Person

Marie Curie. A big surprise

Almost forgot the question.

If you could travel in time to anywhere you wanted would you do it and where would you go?

Re: New Game: Interview the Next Person

Art that tells a story and gives you feelings. My favorite painting is in my home and has been made by my aunt. When I saw it in the art gallery the first time in the exhibition opening I just stood there looking at it and even if I went to look some other paintings I always returned to that paintin...

Re: What's Worse?

Going alone for an away mission or looking together with Archer at an endless water polo game? I don't know if these would be really horrible choises if you think about it. At least if you are a woman. Looking at atheletic men in swiming trunks. Or spending some time alone when you are coopp...

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Bookworm

 "Kiitos onnitteluista." Thank you everyone for birthday wishes. Happy Birthday! :D Did you do anything special for the occasion? Yes I did. Since my age changed from one ten to another ten, I had a bit bigger party. Actually I've been partying for two days now first with friends and ...

Re: The Whine thread.

I saw my first Christmas ad today. It's not even halfway through October yet, and I saw frakkin' Santa Claus on my TV trying to see me cable TV. I almost poped my eyes out on monday at a local grocery store when I saw them having huge piles of Christmas candy everywhere. *sigh* None of you wo...

Re: Las Vegas convention 2009!

Thanks for the information about prices and hotels... I'll definitely have to start saving right now. So more questions is there a good public transport system and are the cap prices very high? I'm trying to make a very accurate estimate of all the costs for the trip, so I'm considering if I have to...

Re: The Question, Answer Game

Q: Did any episode of any Star Trek ever blow your mind? Open your mind? Just have a big impact? Which one and why? That Voyager episode where there is that Q who wants to die. I've seen that episode only once a long time ago. My family background is quite religious so I've grown up believing in Go...

Re: What are you...

Guess it depends on what you're reading. Mathematics never holds my interest, so matter what sort of day it is. But then, I'm no engineer. It depends on what youre reading, because I'm sure I wouldn't fidget at all if I were reading some Trip and T'Pol story. :D And usually math really holds my int...

Re: What are you...

I'm at work trying to learn about different averaging methods for Navier-Stokes equations in two phase flows and having really hard time concentrating today. I read for a minut and start fidgeting in my chair. Not a good day for reading today.

Re: Las Vegas convention 2009!

Fortunately there is still a lot of time before this convention because I just checked how much the plane tickets would cost. I might get to Las Vegas and back with about 900-1000 euros. There is no way I can afford to pay for my hubby to come too and he can't afford it himself since he just started...

Re: Las Vegas convention 2009!

When I was in Italy last time I learned that few completely normal words in finnish are swear words in Italy. I wonder what other complety normal words are something else. Our towns are full of... not too much dressed damsels, nowadays, especially since Italy became a bridge between Africa and Europ...

Re: September '08 word prompt!

  These have all been really great and funny and I've enjoyed reading these a lot. I like this new thread. I'm too tired to write anyhting myself right now since I've spent the whole day reading and writing about turbulent flows, but it has been nice to take small breaks and read one small...
