...reading? About the CAIB (Columbia Accident Investigation Board) and the Rogers Commission... when I really should be doing something useful. This is what happens when I watch Apollo 13 , like I did this morning.... *shakes head* But your chappie will probably turn out fine, WG. If it was worth po...

...doing? Quietly seething (because, apparently, I was like a Nazi or something in a past life, and it's too much to ask for to go through one day without drama), and trying to pretend that there's no world outside of my room... And trying to translate my handwriting from something I wrote (in the c...

Re: The Happy News thread
Where are you? The litteral H in nowhere. Ie, if you pulled up North Carolina on the map and found the exact centre of the state, that's more or less where I am. Do to wyrd topography, about half the county sits on excellent potter's clay and the rest on sand that nothing but longleaf pines and aza...

Re: The Happy News thread
It is freaking snowing here. As far as I was aware, there was nothing in the news about even a chance of it snowing. But, no, I just happened to look outside five minutes ago and big, fat, white flakes were falling from the sky. And it's only getting harder, the snowfall. This is just wyrd. It never...

Re: T'Pol's Father
True, so true. In a way, it makes me glad there wasn't a 5th season. Some of the things they claimed to have planed for it were about 80x worse than "T'Pol's father is a Romulan" would ever have been. If I remember correctly, there was some suggestion of a musical episode... though I hope ...

WarpGirl wrote:I completely agree. And the Romulans are underdeveloped and an interesting place to go to creatively... But to use that to "explain" T'Pol, is just overkill.
Most everything after the pa'nar is overkill... but you have to admit that, it done right, it would've made a hell of an episode.

... this also applies when you read this post and immediately wonder if there are any Enterprise mugs there or even better a Trip and T'Pol mug... didn't see any Trip mugs... but I saw a Team T'Pol mug, some ones with the ENT patch, and a very cool one that I almost got that's all Warp Five Complex...

My whine? Had a good day until paying at the oil change place for my brother's new tires (2x as much as it should have been). Brother was hungry, so we went to the olive garden next door and mom, who just so happened to be getting off work at the same time, joined us. found out about cost of tires, ...

You know what this is going to led to right? A dating site for Star Trek fans. And the world really doesn't need another dating site.

Re: You know you're a Trek fan when . . .
I have some pet peeves about that movie. The interior of the ship looking like a frickin' beer factory crossed with an IKEA store is a big one. Scotty being played by Simon Peg is another, not that I have anything against the man in general. (I'm a big fan of Sean of the Dead .) Starfleet's conveni...

Re: You know you're a Trek fan when . . .
Oh, oh, oh, you missed our wars about this when the movie came out. There's a poll somewhere... Personally, I don;t see what the big deal is. Sure, I was confused as anything until I realized, hell, there had to be an alternate universe involved, when I first saw it, but I love the movie. Proved by...

...you see someone you met once in 2006 and he immediately starts to gripe to you about how much the latest Star Trek movie sucked. He says that he knows you'll agree with him since he remembers that you're an old-school Trekker. And you do agree with him because creating an alternate univer...
