They were the logical ones to do it. Senek didn't know for sure that the Orion and the Andorian had committed any crimes. My view was that this would prevent him from killing them in cold blood unless someone's life was imminently threatened. The women, on the other hand, had more personal experience with their attackers' wrongdoings and more immediate reasons to kill them...logically speaking.

What can I say? I don't like rapists...
But I do like strong women who can take up for themselves. Basic primordial instinct I guess. Strong women breed strong children.

Ah, but BnB doesn't do mushy romance. But then we have people like Bether who excel at the sweet emotional writing, so this all balances out wonderfully and we get a little of everything. It's a TnT fic potluck!
