And it would have been revved up in the decon chamber. BUT that in no way has to trigger a "heart response." All that means is her hormones like him. Kind of like mine like CT, Robbie McNeill, and Brad Pitt! But I don't love any of them, I don't even know them. By the time he gets himself "knocked up" she is intrigued and challenged, so her mind is saying "He's got potential, but he's foolish and utterly too human for his own good." The Liana shows up and she's probably saying, "Here we go again! Why won't he listen to me? What's more why do I care? STUPID HORMONES! More meditation for me. So yeah she cares, but she's not wishing that he was her mate.

That the way we reacted often is rooted in our past and that we don't know what lays ahead (am I right, Asso?) and that we don't always know when a feeling starts. I think she is maybe a little irritated that people don't take her advice, but she is reacting strongly to Liana. Maybe because Liana is such a sweet girl and very suited for Trip and she feels unconsiously the opposite (I no doubt think T'Pol can be very sweet, but she is trained not to be.)
So in spite of herself, she sure doesn't like the relationship between Trip and Liana and she doesn't see there is hardly any relationship, a sympathy maybe, a "i like you"-vibe.
(BTW, I thought the acting of T'Pol in that scene when she sees Trip and Liana together was a bit forced, like she was saying the lines, but not really believing them. Maybe we can think of a way of explaining that )

The out-take of that scene when they first do neuropressure sure made her look annoyed with the whole set-up. Can't say I blame her, what with the shirt coming off.

About the whole issue of denial, in order to deny something, You have to aknowledge the possibility it exists. I KNOW that both Trip and T'Pol are smoldering embers of physical, intellectual, and emotional attraction. "Broken Bow" proved that, which is why AinT doesn't work. But neither of them are aknowledging it for what it is in seasons 1&2. They both decided that attraction can't exist between them. So Trip hides it under a need to 'make her crack,' while T'Pol clings to her need to 'assist him in objectifying other cultures.' But neither one will say yeah I'm hot for him/her.

Oh ASSO it's because love often has no rational explanation that people try to find one. You have a gift by saying "I don't need to understand the how's and why's. I only accept that it is. But there are people like me, who need an explanation for EVERYTHING! And I know I can get cranky if there isn't one. So yes I will try to explain love and how it works. But to me it makes things more romantic because I understand. I dislike being confused. I expect T'Pol does too it's Vulcan nature. Then again Klingon engineers or scientists get even MORE testy if they have to accept the irrational. Do me a favor check out the TV show "Bones" YOU'D LOVE IT.

I agree with you that they both hide their attaction and didn't want to admit it. Maybe that this the reason why - in spite what Jolene maybe thinking of the text - the character T'Pol acts so wooden. Like "I hear myself talk and why am I making so much of this? I am making a fool out of myself". Nah, problably too unVulcan.

For me it's like this.. What is the first question a child learns to ask? Moms and aunties (like me) know this, they ask WHY? And they ask it constantly because they need to understand the world around them and they want to understand people in general. So everything is a WHY? Now for overgrown children like me, we expand this to include: HOW? and ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? My personal favorite! The hard part is accepting that you can't explain people it's not possible. BUT it is equally impossible for some, to stop trying too. Hence Aquarius' awsome quote.
