Asso, this was a delight to read on many different levels. First, for the verbal interplay between the two. Then for the introspection regarding their past history, in which you help us see how they got to where they are. And finally for the joyful and unabashed love they share, and for their physical intimacy. (Being half-way around the world from my own wife, I am certainly glad you stopped when you did--it would have been sheer torture for me had you continued. As it was, I needed a cold shower by the time I finished this!)

In terms of the characters we saw in the series, your Trip and T'Pol are completely outrageous, yet you present them in such a way that I MUST believe. A laughing, giggling T'Pol? Yes, of course! Through your words, your vision became reality, and I can think of no higher compliment to pay a writer.

Over on my SW's fanfic site, my beta lost her husband in Iraq 3 years ago this New Years Eve. It hurt, I don't want to hurt for you too. SO BE AS CAREFUL AS YOU CAN! Besides you have to finish your story or I'll be ticked off.

I am pretty safe over here, since my job doesn't take me outside the wire very much, and when I do travel between bases, it's mostly on military air (Army chinooks or AF C-130's), or in an armored bus called a rhino. We get a couple of rocket attacks every week in Kandahar, but they're small and usually land out in the middle of nowhere.

I have nothing but respect and admiration for the soldiers who go out everyday and put their lives on the line. One of the reasons I took this job was to try and make things just a little bit better for them over here; they certainly deserve it.
