There is a story rather like that somewhere, isn't there? Where Trip is off spying on Romulans and T'Pol catches up with him and they both get blown off the moon or something like that? It was a rousing adventure and nice and angsty too. Can't remember the title or author as usual.

But your idea sounds like a lighter-hearted romp into the same general area, JZK. Go for it.

T'Pol blinked. The message in her in-box said, "Plan the perfect vacation with our new Trip Finder."

It was from some earth travel agency she'd used at some point, of course. It was most certainly not offering her a way to find Trip.

It couldn't be, because he was dead. Or so everyone kept insisting.

For some reason T'Pol was finding this objective fact extremely difficult to believe. He just didn't 'feel' dead to her. She knew it was illogical, but she still felt that tiny, continuous hum of connection that she associated with Trip still vibrating in its inexplicable way just below the level of conscious thought. Alone, in her quarters, or at night, it would make itself known and she would have to tell herself again and again: No, he's gone. He's gone.

"Maybe you should take some time off," the captain had suggested just today. She knew her efficiency was down. It was harder to focus, harder to accomplish her daily tasks. She hadn't realized how much she depended on Trip as someone to bounce ideas off of, someone to confide in, someone in whom she could find rest and release and renewal.

Maybe the captain was right.
Perhaps taking a little bit of time off could have been a not bad idea.
A little bit of time for thinking, or for trying to do not.
A little bit of time, only for herself.
For remembering all had been, and all would have been able to be... and would have been… nevermore.
Sole in her quarters, T'Pol felt a wish of crying that overwhelmed her.
She did get up briskly, breathing deeply, and - almost for their own will - her mind and her look did get to that message in her in-box.
"Plan the perfect vacation with our new Trip Finder."

I tryed.
Now, how does it go on?

The message began, "Let us help you find the perfect trip!"

She winced. There was only one "perfect Trip" and he was gone. Still, she appreciated the irony. A ghost of a smile passed over her face, one that she would never let anyone else see.

Her eyes scanned the various packages. A five day, four night getaway to Risa. A cruise on Melanian Four's grand oceans. A chocolate tour of Dnayu Five. At the very end, she came upon an intriguing package.

"Immerse yourself in a week-long mystery vacation! For the logical, rational mind who revels in solving puzzles and having fun at the same time! Participants assume the roles of private investigators in a murder mystery and spend an enjoyable week unraveling puzzles and catching the culprit."

T'Pol noted all the pertinent information. Then she took a deep breath and activated her subspace link. She had to make arrangements.

Okay, here is my try.

T'pol was packing for her trip. She was thinking how easy it was to get some vacation. Captain Acher seems almost relieved when she told him she was leaving for a trip. He urged her to make a trip very soon. ''It would be good for you", he had said. And adding a lot more enthousiast phrases humans were famous for, he ordered her to start packing now!
And so she did. She packed a small bag and put some basic clothes in the bag. Her medidation candles and some books. She never went on a trip without two or three books to read. Shakespeare sonnets were her favorite reading material during a long trip. Together with some pads, she was ready to close the bag, when she felt ... some thing strange.. She could not indentify the feeling, it was more... a need, a urge... A rather nostaligic one. Vulcans are not nostaligic, she thought. But still she select a few items that held great... value for her.
She took her IDIC for her father, a Vulcan game, a medaillon with a picture of Elisabeth, her daughter, a old t-shirt from Trip, yes, she still had the shirt, and a perfect dryed example of a desert rose. She closed the bag again, but before closing, she searched in one of her drawers and at the bottem she found what she was looking for. Her bathing suit. From the time Trip took her to the beach. Totally onlogical, she mused. But some how these items were needed for the trip.

It seems to me that the storyline shapes up very good.
Now, who wants to get cracking at the continuation?
