You can say Trip was Pregnant because he had an embryo in his body but you cannot say he was imregnated that is he had an Egg in his body that was fertilized.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Art, like many things in life, is subjective. What you get out of something often depends on what you bring with you to it. That's why some people are sensitive because of prior experience, and others feel that anything can be funny in the right context and to the right audience.

And neither point of view is "wrong".

So now that I see words like "moronic" and "wrong" being thrown around and directed at individuals are driving others out of the discussion, I'm severely disappointed. I gave a gentle, general warning about this discussion earlier today and some of you chose to ignore me.

If I see the word "rape" again in this thread, I am locking it.

If I see anyone in this discussion using charged, insulting language again, I will lock the thread, and I will give a warning to the person making the insult.

I will also warn anyone who tells someone else they're "wrong" when we're dealing with OPINION and not FACT. That's just rude and unnecessary, and insulting. A couple of you need to learn how to be respectful of other people's opinions. What's right for you isn't necessarily right for someone else. You are not the Interpretation Police.

If Trip hand an embryo in his body that contained only the females genetic material then she must have implanted an egg i trip and then fertilized by the time Trip returned to Enterprise it was an embrayo. This means the female? not ony prvided the egg but fertilized it too which means that there was essentialy only one sex on the Xirillian ship both females and males? being abe to provide eggs and fertilize them.

Re Hoshi being Raped. Differnt in that she would be penetratd physically and probably by violence. That is different from what hapened to Trip. If however a fertilized Egg or embryo was emplanted in her womb without her permission or knowledge she would be violated no sex being invoved. I would yell like hell if Hoshi was shown to be violenty Raped.

Male Rape, Thee was a case decades ago where an american Marine was gang Raped annaly in Egypt. That was Rape. If a female gets a male drunk enough where he doesn't know what he is doing but is able to maintain an erection and she climbs aboard and has sex with him that too is Rape. If one female holds a gun to aguys head and tells him he has to service all of the females in the room that is Rape. If a female ties up a male, arouses him to an erection and then has sex with him that is Rape,None of those things happened to Trip all that haapenned was he had an embryo transferred to his body without his knowledge or consent which is admittely a violation but he was not forced into it.

There was a film that would have driven the females on this board up the wall. It was made several years ago. It had Carrol Oconner and james cobourn
in it. Courburn traps a female in a barn. she knows what he wants and gtells him that she is not going to give it to him he has to take it. He does. Later she tells her father (Oconner) thaty she has been Raped. He answers that a man "Takes his pleasure where he finds it" he continues "If you weewn't my own daughter...." Later when braced about the Rape couborn answers "Assault with a friendly weapon." This was a comedy. A tad different from what we are discussing.

I sanctioned the closing of this thread when it became too vitriolic to be steered back onto a productive course. I hope everyone involved understands that diminution of discussion is the last thing we aspire to, but rather civil discourse. The nature of our conditions and our experiences and our diversity are such that we are going to find topics that strike poor chords within one another. Still, when we ask that the disruptive discussion be abandoned and it is not, we have to end it by force for the peace of mind of everyone involved.
