I hate the gratuitous angst, but in this story, the angst is part of love. It isn't forcedly searched. There's less angst here than in a lot of stories which are said without angst. Besides the adultery is a clear proof of a love desire that cannot be stopped. And then: what sort of adultery is it? A woman forced to marry a man she don't want and looking for a little bit of happiness? Frankly I don't understand these pruriginous thoughts that many peoples show about an action which is part ( A GREAT PART) of the greatest love stories of the universal literature. Anyway, don't mind: this is only a small consideration of a guy who probably has a different cultural background, and (in any case) I will try to follow the rules. Also apropos of the readers' age.

I can understand being offended by the adultery in the story. However, it's not being presented as something GOOD. It certainly isn't a good idea for either of them (or particularly pleasant for either of them to experience). To me it just makes sense in terms of explaining where these two go over the rest of the season and why there is suddenly such a barrier between them.

It might indeed help to be a little older, though. I think we become a little more accepting that even good people might not always live up to their ideals, especially when the temptation is great.

For these two, the bond they're not even aware of yet creates special difficulties. And although I think T'Pol could rationalize her adultery in this situation, there's no way Trip would feel anything but wretched about it.

I'm not sure. I might try to do a toned-down version for ff.net and if so I'll let you know. It doesn't really make complete sense without the depressing adulterous sex in it, and I think it's kind of hard to summarize bad sex. Good sex, now, that's easy.

I think you may be the first ever to write a Trip and T'Pol sex scene about sex that is awful. That's hard to do. (Now writing an awful sex scene, that's easy! and a TOTALLY different thing.)

So Jadziakathryn, what I am trying to say is her story qualifies as "art" rather than . . . oh whatever . . . I'll just dig myself in a hole.

Yes, but I still don't read sex scenes, art or not. That's just me.

However, I'm perfectly fine with reading something like this:
