Seriously CT can sing, I think he hummed in Precious Cargo didn't he? And he loves music Congenitor and he plays the harmonica.

Maybe he can sing, but that doesn't necessarily follow from your list. After all, I can hum, I love music, and I played the trumpet (in high school). But if I started to sing, you would run for the nearest exit.

Well I decided a few things from this poll...

1. I forgot that numbers do in fact LIE

2. I asked the wrong questions and therefore got faulty information

3. My mother is right, I should just write a Karaoke story to prove to the nay-sayers it can indeed be dignified and not a form of ritual humiliation

So Y'all are getting a Karaoke story soon, and if you flame me that's fine. But you won't be able to say I humiliated anyone.

Now KTR, be nice and don't confuse me. First, you hate the idea of Trip doing Karaoke because you think it's undignified, then you choose a song which you remember being undignified? Makes no sense. I assure you I have no intention of engaging Trip in any form of ritual humiliation. Mainly because to me that isn't what Karaoke is. To me Karaoke is about enjoying life with good friends and family, and allowing yourself to freely express that joy through music and laughter. How can that be humiliation?

I just have this vision of a singing and drunk Malcolm, singing ABBA-songs....

I had a scene in a short story, where Porthos eats Trip and T'Pol's wedding rings, in which Archer asks Malcolm and Hoshi to distract the guests in the church while he finds a way to recover the rings and when he comes back it's like:

TRIP: Is Malcolm using a candelabra as a fake guitar?
ERIKA: Are they singing on the altar?
ARCHER: Is that ABBA?

Hey I would have known Bud and Jack without there second names, I'm so proud of myself. OK yeah I'm pathetic... OK now as for songs, I was thinking about "Life Ain't Always Beautiful" by Gary Allan. Now before anybody lynches me for a country song, this isn't hillbilly or a hick song (not that I don't love those) it's a piano ballad.

OMG That is AWESOME! Anyhow I don't picture this as him singing too or for T'Pol. That isn't the point of my idea. The point of it is to show him happy, healthy, enjoying life with people that he loves. There's no grand plan or symbolism. It's merely about the joy of living.
