The events of the teaser haven't happened yet. Twisted Evil

Ohhh. That makes sense.

You're doing a great job showing Archer's and Trip's learning process as they acquires greater responsibility. They're making reasonable -- though often personally difficult -- adjustments to the Romulan threat. Eisler's the kind of XO Trip needs right now. Those two captains aren't going to know what hit them.

In terms of responsibilities, Trip certainly seems to be moving into admiral territory, but according to "Elysium," he ended the war as a captain. With the attrition during the war, it would seem to be a given that he'd be moved up to flag rank. That means he either refused promotion, his relationship with T'Pol made promotion unlikely (although I would have thought that Archer would have gone to bat for him, or he pissed off the wrong people. I don't think rank means much to Trip, but it's apparent that Archer's moving up rapidly. I'm just a little surprised that Trip isn't going to be moving up as well.

It is a quandary, isn't it?

I see your point, Dinah, but Starfleet also needs good captains in a desperate fashion. Because of that I can see them saying, "Let's keep Tucker where he is and just foist more responsibility on him while on Endeavour." Even if a lot more people join Starfleet, as the end of Grendel established, it doesn't automatically mean you have a crop of qualified war commanders. And yeah, Archer keeping TnT together could have something to do with it - but there has to be something for everyone else to agree with as well.

Now I can see Eisler being moved off to command a Daedalus-class...

Edit: May I make a completely random suggestion? I think the next two ships (assuming that the Daedalus-class ships are stil being made as quickly as possible) should be named after the cities hit with the nuclear weapons. It seems fitting, and vey much like something we'd do.

Yes Rigil, I received exhaustive replies, thanks.

You write also:
As to the question about what happens after the E/R War ends, well ... I have some ideas about that, but honestly don't know whether I'll write them. If I do, they won't be Endeavour fics, so to speak, as Elysium establishes that CPT Tucker & CDR T'Pol resign from Starfleet after the war. Things will make more sense in that regard come Act 1, Scene 3 of Medea ... once I write it, that is.

I hope that you will write these stories. I am really curious of to know the future of our couple in the universe of Endeavour, even if, how is logical, you will not speak more of Endeavour. Very Happy

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Fleet Captain Charles Tucker III - complete with captains log

'Tucker's Dobermen' LTCDR Rick Eisler

D'deridex i-Mheissan tr'Irrhaimehn - resplendent in battle armor

What a nice 'welcome home'. I'm not liking the end of Grendel - way too forboding. But, we know Earth makes it out of the war, so I'm thinking the Rommies don't get the full monty - maybe the more travel size probe - if any Xindi weapon at all.

Interesting start to Medea - once again, Super!Archer strides in the blithering idiot. Probably got his cape caught in a door jam. Always love the little scenes with TnT.

That's the plan. There's a Daedalus-class named Elysium in honor of the attacked colony ... but it got destroyed at Acheron.

And atomic weapons were used, not nuclear. Razz

Not true. You may think it's so, but it's not. It'll make sense in a bit...

Well, I'm not going to say "no", because I have no idea what the evil plot bunnies will put into my lap. It might be interesting, I think, to write a purely Trip & T'Pol fic where they're off on an adventure all by themselves. Who knows what the future will bring?

Yet, you understand why I make the assumption? Then again, your Archer isn't so much the idiot.

But I like capes! Superman has one. Batman has one. Samaritan has one. Captain Marvel (he who some of you may erroneously call "Shazam") has one. Darth Vader has one. Hell, even Lando Calrissian had one!

And, um, I have one.

It's of many colours and I made it in sewing class in grade 10 and then I wore it instead of, well, instead of a coat, you know, and then, well, the other kids were all like "a cape"? But by grade 10 most of them had been exposed to me since grade 8 at least, and so they weren't really surprised.

I was going to show you here, but Rigil might not take kindly to the hijacking of his thread. So here ya go instead.
