Major Rant : Angst

Well, if I remember they were in a public area (sickbay?) and people could walk in at any time. Perhaps Phlox was there. Vulcans are private she wouldn't want to have an intimate conversation like that in front of anyone. Really does Trip need to broadcast all over the ship? Jeeze I know all relationships are give and take but why does T'Pol seem to be the one that people want to change the most? She has as much right to be Vulcan as Trip has to be Human.

Well, it wouldn't have taken much. She just didn't get it. I don't blame her for it, but it's still like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

The sound quality is sucky but you can hear it. You'd still look forward to seeing it for real on TV at some point.

Oh I wasn't refering to you specifically, just some people who like to give T'Pol a makeover in order to cure their hatred of angst. Two things I find wrong with that... 1. If T'Pol wasn't who she naturally is, Trip wouldn't love her. And 2. Do they forget that Trip caused a little angst himself? Because he did he really did.

IDK I don't know, I don't like youtube. I'll think about it. I don't have speakers, because kitty made them a chew toy when she was teeny tiny. Listening with headphones sometimes triggers nasty migranes.

Well, just don't be shocked if they suddenly disappear. Paramount tolerates music vids but I doubt they'd tolerate these if they knew they was there.

Hence the reason I don't like youtube. I'll wait, not nicely, but I'll wait.

It's not exactly YouTube's fault. It is technically copyright infringement when someone posts episodes up there.

True. But I have to admire someone who's principled enough not to watch. I'm afraid I'm way too fond of music videos to be that principled myself.

Of course, I rationalize to myself that it's actually building potential new audiences for music someone might not have heard of any other way. And it's true, I've bought music because of videos I've seen. (Either that, or I just thought "Toad the Wet Sprocket" sounded so cool that I had to buy more of their songs. )

Let me see if I can get this out with a straight face... Alelou do you honestly think a sweet, wholsome, innocent, little girl like me could possibly condone the conduct of law-breakers. I'm just too pure, too upstanding of a citizen to set such a horrible example... NOPE! can't do it.

I can't tell if you're joking or not, but I seem to recall that you're also the girl who appears to be using someone else's wireless access to the Internet...

I've noticed that women tend to back T'Pol up and men tend to back Trip up. For my part what really bothered me about T'Pol is that she constantly sent him mixed messages. It was always "come here/go away". They did it, and the next morning she acted like it was nothing. She kept pushing him away, and finally started acting like she was open to a relationship with him again, and then the marriage thing happened. When that was over with and he went to her again, she acted like she wasn't interested again. And of course he was all smiles, he didn't want her to see that she'd hurt him.

Mmm. Maybe generally speaking it falls along gender lines, but there are definitely exceptions. At least in terms of how people handle the angst in my stories I've noticed that there are some women who always tend to sympathize more with Trip than with T'Pol: Panyasan, JustTripn, and to a lesser extent Dinah, for example. JT really gets annoyed when I have T'Pol do things that hurt Trip, which makes for some interesting beta debates.

And a few men seem to give T'Pol more leeway. Scratches head...who? Eian, I think. Hmm. Anyone else? Judging from his stories, Kevin might fall into this camp, but I haven't seen him debate the issues enough to know for sure.
