OKAY so I got 2 reviews mourning the fact that I made T'Pau a bit older. She just wasn't going to work for my tale as a "barely-legal" beauty. That said, I got the idea from ST.COM I'm only following Paramount's original timeline!

What I don't understand is why some fanboys are automatically assuming she looks like she does in Amok Time see I was thinking she looks like this! http://www.rocky-horror-deutschland.de/ ... susan2.jpg

Vulcanized of course. And if you fanboys can't see sexiness in more mature women that's not my problem. 8) :-P Sometimes its better than the school-girl fantasy.

Erm, dear :?

Unless you no longer value the prospect of reader comments, it might be a helpful idea not to hurl insults at them. Surely you are aware of the negative conotation that the word fanboy carries?

About the moaning. Wherever you got the idea that T'Pau is 140 at the time, it is wrong. She was at Spocks wedding and that was over 100 years later, hence she would be pushing the daisies by then in your universe.

I'd hardly describe Kara as a barely-legal schoolgirl, even in Vulcan terms. I suppose that in real life she's a similar age to Jolene and in Vulcan terms I've always thought of her in similar terms. On that basis she would have had a lot in common with T'Pol - both thrust into positions of great responsibility at a young age whether they wanted it or not.

Um no I am not aware that there is ANY negative connotation to the word fanboy OR fangirl. I have never ever heard them used in any mean spirited or derogatory way. I know I am a self-described fangirl and have said it here often. So I have no clue what you're talking about!

There is absolutely NO evidence that a Vulcan cannot live into their late 200's. None! Just because Sarek died at 203 does not mean he was at an Abnormally advanced age. In fact if he hadn't been suffering from Bendii syndrom he could have lived at leas a few more decades. So I stand by my math.

According to the script, T'Pau should be the biological equivilant of a 17 year old human. Vulcans in their 30's go to Starfleet Academy. So I would say that she is indeed "barely legal" considering T'Pol is 66.

Well I don't know what standard years are or how quickly Vulcans age at different stages in their life, but Kara is definitely a mature young woman and that's who I referred to. I don't think it's reasonable to describe her as a 'barely legal schoolgirl'.

All sources that I know, center the Vulcan lifespan around 200 years, so I'd buy 210 in rare cases 220 years, but by then they'd be very geriatric, which T'Pau in "Amok Time" wasn't. And since the episode "The Forge" is canon, where T'Pau's age has been revealed as 32 years, your story is clearly AU, because it violates established canon.

I know it's AU and I LABLED it as such. But I got the information that T'Pau was Sarek's grandmother on the offical site. I don't claim it's "canon" because it isn't. But I did not make it up on my own!

I also just read a story on MSNBC.com about a woman at 102 who worked at her local state legisture. There are some people in there 100's in this country that still lead productive lives in spite of there advanced age. Another news story a few months back was of two centuriens GETTING MARRIED! So we'll just agree to disagree.

I wasn't refering to the actress herself but as a Vulcan she would have been in her late teens.

Interesting trivia. Nana Vistor who played Kira on DS9 was in her early 30's when she got the part. Kira was canonically 26! Actors frequently play minors in there 20's sometimes even 30's. Case in point the cast of Glee. Another example Summer Glau played a "16" year old Terminator, at the age of 27. Thomas Dekker was 21 playing a 16 year old John Conner.

+/- 10 seems a little low. That's only 5%. Considering Human lifespans are centered at, what, 70? and we get + 30 on a regular basis, +50-60 for Vulcans doesn't sound unreasonable.

First of all, human life expectancy is 80+ these days and only rare cases of 100+ year olds are able to lead a normal life. Most of them are half-blind, half-deaf and utterly helpless. T'Pau in "Amok Time" surely didn't look like an idividual who pushed the limits of the life-span.

@WG
May I just add that the idea of T'Pau as Spocks granny is utterly ridiculous? Can you provide a link where that is established as canon?

I did not say it was canon! I said I got it at the official website big difference This was my post...

I wish I could post the link but ST.COM has almost NOTHING of what it used to have. The site was re-done and they trashed it! :explode: I need another cupcake! :banghead:

Well, you can tell that to my old landlord. The man's 90+ and he went riding by on his bicycle the other day.
