Okay, I know it's only the 28th of February. But I came up with a good one, and I couldn't wait.

To bring the new people up to speed: every month I pick a word, or sometimes it's a short phrase. You write a story based on that, featuring Trip and/or T'Pol. Any style or genre--mystery, humor, action, romance, whatever. There is no minimum or maximum word length. You may post your response to this thread (provided it's short and suitable for general audiences), or you may polish it up and submit it for archival (NC-17 material must be submitted to Decon.)

Our policy is "it's never too late!" so don't worry if you don't finish by the end of the month, or if an older prompt grabs you. Just write!

This month, it's an "either/or" prompt, like October 2008's "Trick" or "Treat". You may write your story on either word, or both, and you don't have to interpret them the way they're conventionally used.

These words gave me a little inspiration.
I think it wasn't hard for Trip and for T'Pol to understand what their daughter meant. I'm persuaded that that grip of their hands didn't need many other things.
Maybe, only a few words. Maybe nothing else than a little gesture.



Truth and Dare.

"Do you think so... Trip?"
I raise my head and turn my face toward his.
He is looking at me, still returning my grip on his hand.
He is looking at me, strangely.
I squeeze strongly his hand and repeat, meaningfully and purposely.
"Do you think so, Trip?"
His eyes punch my soul.
"Yes, T'Pol. I think so."
I lay down my head on his shoulder and speak in a sigh.
"Me too... my Trip."
