There must be one. To train the designers of the beautiful velvets and brocades of Vulcan robes, the designers and crafters of furniture and pottery, the architects, jewelers and sculptors.

Yes. I think you should write a story about it, evcake.

Yes, Evcake! We must have a Vulcan Academy of the Arts to balance the Vulcan Science Academy. What a brilliant idea!

The gap in Vulcan cultural institutions was just staring us in the face.

And you have to include music. After all, the letters of the Vulcan language are supposed to be based on music script. There must be a story that is central to Vulcan culture that the story of those letters is based on. Has anyone attempted to write about that yet? Canon source? Published novel or story? Fan fiction? If not, lets do it! Hey, lets invent a symbol, an icon for the Vulcan Academy of Arts. I am graphically challenged but others on this site are not so impaired! And was there ever a symbol for the Vulcan Science Academy? How about a contest for the best symbols for these academies?
Where did Koss study architecture? (Now please don't throw dead cats at me just because I LIKE Koss...paired with someone other than T'Pol of course)

Great idea, in my opinion!

Oho! A rival museum! We should immediately form an alliance to prevent war.
Here is my peace offering:
T'Reference Desk
from:

which is by art history prof
Kenney Mencher and was hung in a teachers' lounge with some other colourful racy "scholarly paintings" until it was removed cause some people said it made them uncomfortable.

Uh, I think there is room on a planet of four billion for more than one academy. Maybe they have differing emphasis?

I see no need for rivalry between academic institutions.
Unless we sprout football teams or something.

Football teams composed of violinists and dancers and clothing designers?

How about darts playing teams or gymnastics teams instead.

Competative sports is not the Vulcan Way, as far as I can tell. We could have
Kal-toh (sp?) tournaments, if anybody can find out what it is.

Perhaps each Academy can propose their own Kal-toh rules, and then we can battle to the death enforcing them!
(I think I may be part Klingon).

I remember hearing somewhere that a comment was made that Vulcans only danced during "boring religious ceremonies". Maybe they can compete in trying to put people to sleep?
Of course, from what we've seen so far with all of their arts, Vulcan dancing must be incredibly beautiful, too.
(an aside: Hmm... I betcha Vulcans would like ballet-- the barre at least. A very logical way to warm up one's muscles.)
Hey, and who would the cheerleaders be?
