Borrowing

I started to write a new fic and realized how difficult it's to write about a place that is a real place on earth, but where you have never been and know very little about.
Then I remembered the wonderfull fics written by Linda and Asso and inspirations hit again. So now I'm asking that can I borrow your idea of writing about a vacation in a familiar place?

Of course you can write about a vacation in a familiar place! No one owns this idea. And I do not claim ownership to such an idea - I feel it is free to use by anybody and would love to read about my favorite Star Trek characters in a place that is familiar to you so I can learn something new about another part of our precious planet!

I have liked about that in your and Asso's fics too.
It's going to be so much fun writing about places I'm really fond of and trying to imagine Trip and T'Pol's reactions. I think there are going to be some cultural surprices for them.

Finland, if I'm not wrong.
This is your country.
One among the most beautiful countries of the world.
I have been there: I'm speaking by knowledge.
But could you think how much it might be delightful to see T'Pol's (and also Trip's) response (emotional, too) in living for some time in a country so attractive and so different from her own world?

An Eastern Canadian could do the Ice Hotel....they take 1 month in Quebec every winter and build a whole functioning hotel out of Ice and Snow. And in the spring it melts.

(I've never seen it, though it's in my country, it's about 3200 miles away!).

We also have an ice hotel in Sweden, in
JukkasjÀrvi.
And no, I haven't been there.

Yes. Yours is the original. Those damn Quebecois stole it from you!

But I'm sure both are very nice.

I have a friend in another science fiction fandom who says that her fandom is not international. Mostly Americans and British, because everyone has to have the same cultural references and facility with English. I think she's missing out!

About things made from snow and ice.
Well here is our snowcastle.
LumilinnaThere is a hotel and restaurant and most importantly chapel for wedings and such things.
Here are pictures of the previous years.
http://www.snowcastle.net/photos/Then there is the snow village
http://www.snowvillage.fi/Then there is the snowland
http://wildandfree.com/lumimaa/english/index.htmlThen some Igloo villages
http://www.snowbrick.fi/KakslauttanenThen we have something in Helsinki too. Our Ice bar
http://www.arcticicebar.fi/Hmm... There are some ideas circling in my head. Although I've never been in most of those places, because those are for tourists. But I have experience about sleeping in winter conditions inside a tent in a sleeping bag and those hotels must be much more comfortable.

Sounds like places that would appeal to an Andorian - ice hotels and such.

Two things.
First: with those pictures you made me eager to go there.
Second: watching our couple to do that may be really intriguing.
And: What do you (you of all) think if a certain Andorian (our friend), going in a Ice Hotel for some strange business, would find there a certain couple?

What you say is very beautiful!
Thanks!
And, please, we don't must forget thet here there's also the "France".
I remember the very cute story of
Lys:
The Last Laugh. And I wait for something else from her.
And if I'm forgetting something or someone, please: excuse me.
