FEDCON, Dallas, TX (June 13-15, 2008)
For those who might be interested, Mysteria over at HoT posted that FEDCON will be having a con in America next year (usually they're in Germany). It will be in Dallas, TX, from June 13-15, 2008, and yes, Connor is one of the first confirmed guests. As is Chase Masterson (Leeta from DS9) and Marc B. Lee.
You can get full details here, FEDCON's USA site...

How about this one? I'm not sure--get them to march up and down a bit...

And that would be right in the middle of certification for me, so the others in the office wouldn't much like that.

Re: FEDCON, Dallas, TX (June 13-15, 2008)
I'm considering attempting to attend this since it's only about two and a half hours away from where I live. It really depends on this coming year and how expensive school will be (and whether I can find a way to pay for that doesn't involve blood and some contract about a soul or something.)
Would really kind of prefer that Jolene shows up instead of this Trinneer fellow...
Might be able to talk Ludjin/Wenya into showing up since she lives in Dallas (well ... Fort Worth. Same thing.) I've already dropped her a line, but given how sporadic she is online, I may have to call her.

Um. I wanna go. I made more than enough all by myself babysitting this delightful little spawn of 14 mo old boy for exactly 100 hours so far.

It sounds like fun, she said wistfully.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

....and then, nerves glavanizing into a taut, harplike matrix of resolve, she sat at her computer and booked non-refundable bus tickets and hotel rooms....

Seattle to Dallas by bus...I don't think so. I wonder what the airfare would be...

Re: FEDCON, Dallas, TX (June 13-15, 2008)
you forgot the so-agonizing-you'd-pull-your-own-arm-off-to-beat-yourself-with-it ferry ride(s) b4 hand during which you clench your fists and try not to scream as tourist after tourist snaps the photos and ooohs the ahhhs and pointses at the whalsies......yes yes! WHALES! I don't CARE if you're from WHEREver they DON'T have whales! The whales are not interesting after 70000000000 times! (I have a lot of ferry rage. It comes of the years my sister and I took the ferry twice every 2nd weekend for hours and hours for years and years to visit the dad and in our teenage pettiness we hated so many things about the innocent folk who were enjoying their boat trip (justifiably so). we would sit there and cynically loathe and loathe them.....oooooooooo how we hated those ferry newbies)
....and like Chakotay says in that glimpses episode....it's easier to start hating than to stop. you've got to go against the general opinion and wrestle your rages to trembles.

Re: FEDCON, Dallas, TX (June 13-15, 2008)
Well, I talked to hubby. Dunno if I'll be able to convince him to come with me, and after the last con he doesn't really trust me to go to a con without him. Something about parading around half-dressed, (stage)kissing someone else's husband, and drooling over a complete stranger who just happened to have played a character on a cancelled TV show.
Too bad. I'm going anyway.
