OK. Been steadily keeping up with this development and I think everyone would be interested to know that certain canon characters will be appearing in Renegades. Here is a list:

Tuvok, Harry Kim, Icheb (Voy), Doctor Zimmerman (Voy, DS9), Admiral Paris, and Admiral Chekov.

If it's any good and consistent, I might start a fanfic site. I am willing to give it a chance. What worries me is it's made up of the less interesting characters (although they're not too bad), but at the same time, I have a feeling that since Garret and Tim aren't under the control of the network, they actually have the freedom to develop their characters better than what they were before.

Zimmerman won't be a problem. He was actually very well developed. Admiral Paris was kind of a douche-bad to his son, but I hope they don't sweep that under the carpet.

Also, from what I understand, the leading lady kicks some serious ass.

Just learned on the facebook Renegades page that the intent of this was not another fan series, but the first episode will be pitched to CBS network and hopefully bought.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I like the idea of having a Star Trek series that's actually made by people who love Star Trek.
