Malcolm/Hoshi story
The Livejournal EntFicathon has started, and I've posted my story.
Words of Comfort
By 2Distracted
Summary: Hoshi finds there’s more to Malcolm Reed than meets the eye. Spoilers: “Countdown” and “Zero Hour”.
Rating: PG for unappetizing medical details
Genre: Drama, Romance
Disclaimer: I don’t own these characters and I don’t make any money when I let them out to play.

That's just lovely. Thank you.
I like sensory (if I have the right word) details. I remember someone who smelled a little of Bay Rum and gun oil. Sigh.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

Re: Malcolm/Hoshi story
Oh, ready to post on the first day and everything!
Really nice. I like the attention to detail. Plus, I like how Malcolm can call her "my love" while pretending not to know what he's saying.

I'm glad y'all liked it. I've had it written for over a month now. It was torture to wait to post it. I also forgot to credit my first beta ever, starwatcher. She helped me authenticate Malcolm's dialogue.
How's your story coming, JZK?

Cheers hon, but I didn't really do that much! I really liked this story, as I said to you when I read it - good luck with the competition! When do they announce the winner?

I have no idea how it works since this is my first time to enter. I don't think there are any prizes, but I guess it would be cool to win the approval of the readers. The contest is extremely slash-heavy, though, so I don't expect to win anything overall. I really think JZK and I are the only writers participating who don't write slash. At least it looked that way from the entry thread.

That was lovely, Distracted. An intimate vignette that brings the characters alive as we learn a little more about them. Its in the details like the smells and use of the Welsh language. I sure hope you do well in the contest. You deserve to.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

No prizes, just fun.
Mine's coming. It'll be ready before the deadline June 5th, anyway. Now that Rigil kindly helped me with some military details much more progress is being made.

Finally got around to reading it. Nice one Dis. Well up to your usual superlative standards.

Re: Malcolm/Hoshi story
Hoshi's treatment at the hands of the Xindi was sadly overlooked after Countdown. This story is a lovely, intimate look at two emotionally vulnerable people. It's easy to see why they'd be drawn to one another. I liked Hoshi's observation that any relationship with Malcolm would require extra effort on the woman's part. It also makes sense that Malcolm would feel guilty when Hayes died. I find it hard to believe that there are many stories out there that could top this. Great job!

Re: Malcolm/Hoshi story
It's nice to see someone pick up on the subtle things, Dinah. Sometimes I think they might just be in my head and that I haven't been successful at expressing them for the reader. Thanks.

Re: Malcolm/Hoshi story
It was a really good story I really enjoyed it. Even though I'm not a Reed/Hoshi shipper. But
it's so sad that those characters were like totally ignored on the show, as well as their personal aftermath
so it's great to see this, I think you really captured them well and all the details, the only thing in it that wasn't true to the show was that those two actually got some spotlight on them for a change. But that's a good thing
I just wish they had shown something like that on the show. Instead of alien nazis
would have made like way more sense. So even more

Re: Malcolm/Hoshi story
Thank you, dear. I always thought all of the minor characters had so much potential. But we got Suliban and Xindi instead. Sigh.
