"Guess Who" Drabble Challenge

Okay. If no one's guessed by tomorrow after I get home from work I'll have time to read transcripts to find the scene you're referencing. Tonight I've got to do laundry, clean the kitchen, take a bath, and go to bed. 6 am comes early.

There are just some things a guy like me doesn't need to know. But thanks to an alien that's actually a sapient gooey spider web I know them now.

I didn't need to know the Captain's favorite fantasy was of Captain Hernandez in a hot tub in Mexico.

I didn't need to know Jen gets up at 0430 to watch Commander Reed workout. So much for “looking at the stars,” with me.

Now I'm praying I never get assigned to Columbia.

What does Jen see in Reed anyway? I'm bigger than he is.

I really shouldn't know these things!

The episode was the one with that nasty white gooey web thing, which memory says was called Vox Sola. I don't remember who got 'webbed' though. Trip, I think, and Archer, But there were a couple of others. Not Reed or T'Pol or Hoshi since I think they were the ones who pulled off the rescue. The "looking at stars" line has thrown me completely. I guess this is a conversation I've forgotten. Perhaps I need to do some 'research' and track that down. It must be somebody bigger than Reed (duh!) but, no offense to DK, that doesn't narrow it down much! How embarrassing to face the prospect of meeting your new boss having vicariously shared a hot tub with her. Is it somebody who has been considering moving to Columbia, then? And making a move on Jen, too? Lots of clues, but they're not helping me at the minute!

Double post. Who is Jen? I remember the episode where Trip and Archer gets caught in that web. Couple others too. Hoshi finaly mkaes contact with it and Trip and Archer are saved.

Looking at the Stars? Hot tub? those throw me too.

I revviewed a couple of episodes today on my TV from the DVR.

Okay not every line in the drabble comes directly from an episode. That defeats the purpose of telling the story. As for "Jen" she's the character of J. Kelly a crewman also caught in the web. IDK what J. stands for so I made it up. As I said in my little author's note above the Drabble! The "looking at the stars" or "watching sthe stars" comment does come from an episode, but not Vox Sola.

My goodness people I know I'm literal when it comes to conversations, but I am not literal when it comes to stories! There is no episode where Archer fantasizes about Hernandez in a hot tub. I made that up! Although it isn't a bad idea. It's make better sense than his fantasies about T'Pol in A Night In Sickbay and nobody star talking about it. It's the drabble thread!

So find the episode so somebody wins and we move on!

Yeah, I got all that WG. I understand exactly what was going on, except for which crewman was stuck in the web and which episode that crewman was talking with Jen. So apart from those two minor details, we're just peachy.

Cogito, Yes, problems with typing, eyesight, Keyboard (gets stuck at times) my spacing is way off. I used to touch type at 100 WPM withou terror. typed for 40 years. I am now 75 years old and time does take is toll. I have only one eye so I miss much. Please forgive. I do try to edit but forget at times. NOT senile or have dementia or Alchiemers (sp) Mind still works well. Just creask along at times and that is reflected in my posts.

I wasn't talking to anyone specifically. But like usual I failt to see how this one is so tricky. My brain works in odd ways. Part of the reason I was in therapy so long is that I just go at warp 10 mentally all the time so I forget people don't always keep up. It's not that I do it on purpose. It just happens.

Well, so you say. But sometimes when I see some of the drabbles you make us solve, I can't help thinking you're taking a vicious delight in setting us impossible challenges. But I am determined you will not get the better of me this time - somehow, team SilverBullet will be victorious.

You'll just have to take my word for it. After all, I'm not the only incomprhensible person on earth. I can't figure out why someone decided Americans would change what you know as "football" into soccer. That person must be more confusing and evil than little old me.

WG, actually it hasn't bee changed. Footbal is still Football and Soccer is still Soccer.

However, in Reolutionary days, Americans played Soccer. In fact the Fotball thhat Nathan Hale kicked which exposted him was a Soccer Ball. American play boht games now with the influx of natives from other lands whoo become Americans there game is Soccer.

Cogito, You never commented on my post re what Charges Archer could have been courtmartialed under. Desertion has been a ccrime in the military since the Egyptians. usually punishhable by death. won't get in to argument of whether Enterprise was military. all I can say is Hoshi said she ws given a Bad Conduct Dischage and that is only handed out by a military unit not a civilian one. In civilan life you can be fired, canned, terminated, etc. but not given a Bad Conduct Discharge. that happpens only in the military. so Starfleet was military ergo so was Enterprise and its crew. Archer would come under military regs and Desertion is a court martial offense. He would have been found guilty and probably kicked out of Starfleet.

Well, if we were trying to be realistic about it, both he and T'Pol would have been kicked out long ago. I'm quite certain that neither of them had leave for a personal mission during the character assassination known as "the seventh". And I don't think there are many episodes where everyone acted like a competent and professional officer. But it's only a bit of light-hearted science fiction and it doesn't do to look at it too rigorously. I keep telling myself that. It rarely helps.
