Hi, I'm editing a story. We need to know if Decon is connected to Sickbay. If not, is it nearby?

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure it is adjacent to sickbay.

IMHO, it is reasonable to have decons both near launchbays for away teams and near sickbay for the infectious outbreaks.

It would seem logical for decon to be attached to sickbay, wouldn't it, so you could easily get any medications you needed? Either that, or connected to the shuttlebay or some entry port into the ship so you could decontaminate before entering the ship with whatever you might have picked up on a 'stange new world'.

For some reason I have always thought Decon was seperate from Sickbay because of what linda pointed out. Someone needing decontaminating before entering the shiip If they had picked up something Nasty on the surface. That and when entering and leaving Decon people seemed to walk out into the ship proper not sickbay. I guess it would depend on where the port of entry is located to board the ship and if Decon is near that. I know in most scenes Sickbaywas entered by two Doors side by side. I never saw any entry from Decon into sickbay.

I think it's not canonically noted anywhere, so you can make it how you choose.

No, it's not. It's connected to the shuttle bay and the room where the space suits are kept. That way away parties could undress and go through decon before entering the ship. I was curious about that and watched for it in several episodes.

I knew that it was connected to the shuttle bay and the space suit room - but I always figured that it was connected to Sickbay on the other side. But then again, Sickbay is always in one of the most protected areas of the ship, and that wouldn't be the shuttle bay.

Well, for the story the question is Moot. Story has been put up. author wanted Chips viewing from the Sickbay (wall slides down to reveal a window used for vistors to people who were quaranteened in Sickbay.) So, Chip, T-Pol and Trip would be in sickbay and the viewers outside at the window. Howevever, Beta wanted the Decon. so Decon it was.
