I think that place would be HoT. And vice versa.

I've never ever been on the boards there. Oh, well, guess I'll figure it out if it comes to that. I ain't going to risk picking up yet another crack Trek habit unless I have to.

Rest assured, there is a weekly backup at my place. I'm looking at the tape safe now. We wouldn't lose much/anything.

^ That's good. We don't want to repeat the trauma of the Great TriS Crash.

We were down again for awhile.

Yep... fortunately I made a note of the time and will try and see if the logs hold any answers.

I couldn't even access the server control panel!
:evilmonkey: (any excuse to use the evil monkey)

At this point I'm seriously considering suggesting to Elessar that he introduce Hostmonster to Maria... she'll get to sort it out!

To be fair, the service has been fairly good up till now. Better than our previous host anyway, I'm sure no one needs reminding of the big loss there...

I sent in a support ticket saying we had some outages on yesterday and today, but I didn't have a lot of specific information to give them since we weren't able to see the cpanel. I just told 'em the site was down and one time we had a red light on the server status (as Alelou reported today).

Yeah I mean, I don't like this either, but it's not crippling, and it could be a lot worse. I mean we lost the entire site on the old host simply because they screwed up.

Yeah, that specific drive is supposed to be running hot... pretty much means there's gonna be a bottle neck... same as a traffic jam.

Is there no offsite backup?

I have one, and given the size of HostMonster, I'd say they probably do as well.

Is there a reason why, in IE, I'm having trouble with the BBS links to "new messages" and "user control panel"? I click on them, and double-click on them, and quite often nothing happens. Yesterday it was just the messages link and I could get to it via User Control Panel. This morning neither works. I've had to get back into my messages from an email notification.

But it's intermittent, since both just worked when I went to test them again.

Posting is also kind of sluggish, which is the opposite of what I expected with a faster cable modem.

All is fine now, but yesterday at 9:30 am it was soooo slooowww here. But that was okay, since I had to get going for 10 o'clock class and shouldn't have been here in the first place. ;) However, I just thought I'd mention it.
