Hi,

When I bring up the "view more smilies" option and click on a smilie, it doesnt appear in my post. It used to work. It stopped working a couple of days ago, but I don't know the exact day it stopped working.

Uh, oops, it seems to be working again. Did someone fix it or did I just do something different so it works again?

Uh, I tried putting a "view more smilies" smilie right in this post and again it is not working. But I just got finished with a post in another thread, and it worked there? I am confused. (Oh, as you can see the smilies to the left here do work. It is just the extra smilies I am having trouble with.)

I have intermittent trouble with them, too, Linda, but I haven't figured it out. I don't use them much anyway. It may have something to do with my pop-up blocker.

I have the same problem. I can see the "more smiles", but when I clicked on one of them in my post, nothing is to be seen. (The Smiles work as you can see).

I haven't had any problems with them at all...but I'm going to test a couple out in this post...



Theoretically we should see an evil monkey and a shrug when I post this.

Not that it should matter, but what browser are those of you having trouble using?

I'm on IE. Probably version 7.

There are known bugs regarding the the more smilies feature with Internet Explorer. It may have gotten worse during a recent software update. I would recommend switching to Firefox or Opera as they work fine and there are less security issues with these two than with IE. It's a win-win situation.

It would be if Firefox worked as well for me, but it doesn't. No doubt it's some nefarious Microsoft plot, but things like Flash or whatever won't necessarily run in my Firefox, plus it insists it's a version associated with my old Internet provider, even though I don't use it anymore, and deleting and redownloading it doesn't seem to do a damned thing to change that. It's not like I haven't TRIED very hard to remove all traces of Verizon from this computer, but I'm not ready to start playing around with the registry. I did that trying to get rid of Verizon and McAfee on my son's computer and it died, though it may have been dying anyway, who knows.

I think McAfee is an Evil Nefarious Plot that screws insidiously with your computer too, but I'm just going to let the bastards hold me hostage for now. You pick your battles. Once I can afford to replace this thing maybe I'll get a little braver.

In the meantime I can live without smilies.

There aren't that many smilies here to begin with, so why not put them all up and discard the pop-up box?

Right I've added them all to the sidebar. Once we jump a version again I'll set it back again. Apologies for the lost space.
