I used to work at a restraunt and wore rubber gloves and had to mix up chemical cleansers it went right through my gloves and burned my hands. It happened alot until I bought a brand of gloves that i found that protected my hands. I was allergic to the chemicals in the cleansers I had to mix up. Got some nasty burns from the chemicals.

I never took the gloves I use to the doctor :? so I don't know. But it's the same kinda gloves I've always used and the acid hands just started recently. :? :dunno: And I don't know if the chemicals actually go through the gloves, or maybe it's just what manages to get inside because of the gloves being too big, I don't know. :? :? But as a result of the acid hands I now have "latex allergy" on all my medical charts, then it's very limiting some doctors don't wanna treat me if they don't have non-latex stuff say it's like "risking my life" and whatever, some would treat me if I sign a waiver. And when I do sign a waiver and they use latex on me guess what, NOTHING happens. The only reaction I get is from latex+cleaning. So is there a way to check once and for all what exactly I'm allergic to :? :?: :dunno:

^ You can go see an allergist and get tested.

Actually, it's not that simple with latex sensitivity -- really, they can only test your reaction to the specific formulation of whatever glove you're using. They're quite different and the amount of available rubber in them varies tremendously.

But if doubling the latex gloves protects your hands, it's not the latex -- it's probably the chemical you're trying to protect yourself from. Sounds like the solution might just be stronger, longer, better-fitting gloves.

Well I've never actually tried doubling the LATEX. I doubled everything else, or used the latex with something else. But never doubled the latex. :?

Sorry. I misread your earlier list, then.
