According to this web (and they cite an article of "The Inquirer"), discs of Blu-Ray technology could see their quality diminished and end their useful life in about 4 or 5 years. This information have been gathered thanks to an interview with an anonimous worker from Sony Japan. The information doesn't talk about BD-R and BD-RE discs.

Sony, as it seems has ordered to retire the cited interview.

Luckily is a hoax

Sorry, but yesterday, December 28th, was the Spanish "April Fool's Day". Yeah, we do it in December (how we turned a children massacre into a day of jokes and pranks is something that has always perplexed me.)

Yesterday I didn't get out, but even so, I received a prank by the phone (a friend of the family, telling me my father's car was parked wrong and that it was going to be towed; yeah, veeery funny )
