But I don't really like doing theater :? :? :? I like film/TV acting better because theater acting is all like over the top and too unrealistic and stuff.

I'm sure it is a lovely place though. :)

Isn't it 'spozed to be just the opposite?
That theater is more immediate and genuine than film? Because it's happening in real time, right in front of your face?

^ Not from my (albeit amateur) understanding. The word theatrical is there for a reason. Because a play actor has to reach out and be heard all the way across to a large audience, he has to exaggerate speech and mannerisms in a way you don't have to on film and TV.

Well that's like one aspect of it but the acting itself is like way heavier than film/TV acting, and than real life because it's like so over the top and no one actually talks like that, plus it's also like very limiting and that also makes it unrealistic and stuff like for example the actors on stage have to interact with their scene partners and the audience at the same time, like they have to face the audience all the time so like if I'm like on stage and my scene partner is standing behind me like I'd have to be facing the audience when I'm supposedly talking to a person behind me :? :? :? :? which is unrealistic to me :? :? :? so like yeah film/TV acting doesn't happen in real time but there's camera angles and the camera can move when I have to move, turn etc no matter which direction I'm facing I'm facing the camera (well unless I'm not supposed to), and I like the acting better because it's like way more realistic in terms of speaking tones etc, it's not to heavy and over the top and overacted like in theater it sounds more like people talk in real life. That's why I like it better. :)

Stage actors say that response of a real-time, present audience is pretty special... :)

^ When I was younger I did a wee bit of acting.

For myself I preferred the stage over filming.

It's a personal preference thing though...you know?

Don't we all try our hand at acting in our youth?

E.g. "I swear Mom, I had no way of knowing that someone had poured vodka into the punch bowl!"

And: "Well gee, Dad, I thought you bought those balloons for us to play with. They make great water balloons and last longer than other balloons!"
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

*Giggles*

But I my case I really did act for a bit there.

One of the things I did was that I was an extra with my dad in a McGyver episode. That was a lot of fun and exciting for a 9 year old! lol

According to my dad I also was in a commercial...but I must have been really young at the time because I don't remember that at all. :?

The stuff I really remember is the plays I did at our local theatre.

I actually miss it sometimes.

I saw on Connor's message board at imdb.com that he is or will be filming a movie called Tomorrow Doesn't Matter. He plays a guy named Sam. My Space: Tommow Doesn't Matter
