I just watched. I think the therapy sessions were very realistic (though I highly doubt any therapist would ever invite a client to their father's deathbed). Most television representations of therapy are not. But they must have been because I kept thinking about my therapist and missing him during the episode. I was loving this one because of all of the House analyzing. Somehow, I doubt the breakthrough with him will last. Too bad. It seems he does have a heart in there somewhere.

And how did you like all the false starts as we think, Ah hah, House has a plan! He's going to get out of it again, by outsmarting everyone.

True. I can't watch House without thinking of ways to murder him.

I find the character fascinating. I think because I want to understand why he is the way he is. But then I remember that he's fictional. Hugh Laurie is pretty amazing, I must say.

Love the actor, agree the character is amaziningly written and complex. A wonderful psych study. But I want to murder him. I don't watch TV to get angry. That's what the news is for.

Well, House's attitude is much like that of my 17 year old son. :( I've decided that my son's personality is some cross between Simon Cowell and House. Sigh! Maybe it's teen years talking. I really hope so. :doubt:

Oh OUCH! Well that depends, I wasn't the most pleasent 17 year old, on the other hand, boys tend to set their personalities earlier than we do. I think it's because we mature physically faster. Hmmm... I hope it's just puberty I really do.

My problem with House is that he is so freakishly BLESSED with so many wonderful things and all he does is crab about his leg. As someone confined to a wheelchair I'm always thinking "STOP! You're blessed. You arrogant Jackass you of ALL PEOPLE should understand this, you're a doctor!" And then he berates his patients if they show any self pity. It's the hight of hypocrisy. I sometimes force myself to watch in order to train myself to be tolerant, it never works.

If he were a real person, one might analyze his berating of others self-pity as a defense mechanism. He sees emotion as a weakness because he does not want to deal with his own inner pain and sadness. Allowing others to acknowledge their personal suffering is a reminder of all that he does not want to face within his own life. He chases it away in order to avoid it. He keeps everyone at a distance so they won't actually see him for who he really is. That could be a fear of intimacy or loss. If he allowed others to knock his walls down, he'd have to look for himself. And maybe he wouldn't like what he saw. I think his harsh demeanor is a shell that he uses in order to protect himself from further pain and having to face himself. It's easier to be mean. Being nice would leave him open to more injury, make him weak and vulnerable, expose his inner sadness. Right. Television character.

I know it's easy to psycho analyse fictional characters. I do it in Bones all the time. Last night was rife with it, yet Sweets is still being dumb. Anyway I still say House is a spoiled self-pitying wreck and Wilson needs to give him a kinck in the pants. Lovingly of course, but a hard kick in the pants.

Wow, that's deep (Warpgirl, Bether) . . . .

As for your spoiler, Warpgirl. Some women will be happy. Some women who automatically hate all really skinny women, especially if they are young and pretty, who try not to but really can't help it, will be glad to see her go. And then on top of that she is talented, selfless, and nice. *gag*

I mean, . . . she seems like a good character. What a shame.

I figured... it was obvious they had to have some reason for all the
SPOILER!!!:
wedding stuff. I mean they (Cameron and Chase) haven't been a main plot in forever and then all of the sudden there's all this manufactured angst. I knew there was a purpose... I was just hoping against hope it was for the purpose of Chase being emotionally trampled when she runs back to House
