What, I am often asked, is the harm in fan fiction? . . . "What is the harm in it?"
I might counter by demanding to know 'What is the good of it?' I'll resist that temptation.

*coughs* Allows chance for creative expression, deepens the fan community, creates bonds, broadens the fanbase of the original work *cough*

I was about to endorse the above quote with regard to fanfiction, but . . . these high minded sentiments don't quite fit with my low-minded sentiments (above) . . . hmmm . . ? There is much to ponder. Good thing this thread is calld "Randomness."

OH GROSS!!! Like I'm sitting outside at the end of the hall, and there's a bunch of guys in the room next door to mine and it smells like... well it smells like guys I mean it's like 20 something feet from where I'm sitting right now not even that close. And they just opened the door and let the pukingly disgusting odor overflow to the hall. Help meeee!!!

I had a friend who was in this freshman male dorm house at UBC. It was Robson house and their mascot was a rat. The Robson Rats.

They had a vomit-o-meter painted on the wall to document who had drunk and barfed the most/the farthest. They would prank one another by all pissing in a bucket and adding lots of water and tipping it against someone's door, so when they opened their door, the pisswater would spill into their bedroom. Except, um freaks, YOU live there too! Now YOUR WHOLE house smells like piss! How is that a prank on someone else? Stupid idiots.

Some girls came over to visit from another house, and they brought plastic shower curtains to lay over the couch b4 sitting down on it. Clearly, they had visited before and had come prepared.

Not to impugn ALL guys. But guys living alone together? is right a lot of the time.

Okay, I just have to get this new knitting book, Domiknitrix. I've already flipped through and found it amusing with good patterns and the author's blog/website just cemented it for me. Not your grandmother's knitting...

I've gone from scarf to corset to... who knows? I'm an impressionable new knitter who has been corrupted by all of the punky, goofy, and domiknitrix-y knitting patterns. Now, I have to hunt down that elusive group of knitters who combine knitting and trek.
