CX is right about the idea some people have of fanfic writers as a bunch of teenagers who can't really write. I've never claimed to be the world's best writer, but I'm not some entirely unskilled teenager girl who writes Mary Sues where I beat out T'pol for Tripp's affections, can cure more ailments than Doctor Flox, and earn the love of the crew from John Archer to Pothos.

Will it sound really wierd if I say that I think I'd enjoy reading that? (Rather, a parody of Mary Sues written like that?)

I am currently sitting on my butt, totally overstuffed and exhausted in my hotel room, debating whether or not to go to sleep because I may want to wake up at 4 am tommorrow...

Hey, maybe we should have a parody challenge. How about a thread where each of us writes a Mary Sue (or Manny Sam?) of 200 words or less - that could fit right into the thread entries. The plot being "How Mary Sue saves Enterprise, earns the respect of the crew, and the love of one crew member". The crew member who becomes enamored with her/him could be anyone from Archer to Porthos!

Edit: As a disclaimer, I'm not trying to bash everyone who ever spells a word incorrectly or has a typo. It happens. But I firmly believe that if one is going to be posting works of fanfiction the characters' names should be spelled correctly. This is not Elizabethan England, where Raleigh himself spelled his name different ways and nobody thought it odd. Just a fanfic pet peeve of mine.

I'm guilty of the "T'pol" misspelling early in my fanfic career. More obvious misspellings drive me nuts, though.

Can anyone recommend a digital camera... I've been trying to find like a decent one for under $100 on Amazon but I've never actually had a digital camera so I don't really know what they're like... any favorite brands/models or whatever? Please help...
