Yeah. I get cranky when I'm tired, too. I hope your day goes better today.

Re: The Whine thread.
Thanks... sigh... but... I don't think there's a chance for that to happen
the way it started then I came back at like 8am tried to catch up on some sleep, which was like totally impossible
so I'm so tired.

Meetings. Meetings are the death of the mind. They shrink your brain to the size of a peach pit. I hate meetings.

I'll let you go to my store meeting on Sunday. It'll only last an hour at most, since it starts at 9 am and has to be done by 10 am when the store opens. And then I can go home and get some breakfast instead...

Was this the army that invaded your country, ma'am? No, officer, they were taller than that...
How about this one? I'm not sure--get them to march up and down a bit...

I just spent over $500 for new tires, lower ball joints, rear brakes & seals, only to have the engine start pulling crap with me now.
Doesn't help that at well over 100 degrees, it's way too hot to work on it now.

100 degrees!!!
You have my sympathies there. And cars are expensive, aren't they?
It's probably safer to get those ball joints replaced before they make your wheel pop off like mine did a few months back. Or maybe that was the tire rod. Either way, it wasn't much fun. Very scary. Stay cool!

Eventually you reach the point where it is more cost effective to finance a couple thousand and get a reasonably dependable used geo tracker, or maybe a an old ford pickup. Some kind of beat up vehicle that you can nudge along for a couple of years with no major expenses except a swimming pool worth of gas and oil each month.

Re: The Whine thread.
KIIS FM is like the worst radio station ever. They have like maybe 5 songs in total, no kidding, which I assume are like popular or something (for some sick twisted reason), which they just keep repeating and repeating and repeating AND REPEATING AND REPEATING to death!!
And that stupid tralk Obi whom you already know I despise IMMENSELY brought that frelling radio to the room, now she puts that frelling horrible radio station on all the time even when people are trying to SLEEP, and it's loud and obnoxious like her, it's like mostly all those stupid boring annoying monotoneous sexual (to obscene) rap/Rn'B/hip hop songs I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, that dren's like everywhere unfortunately, now can you understand why I stopped listening to any music. I mean like how crazy is that, I adore music I've been writing original music and filks and whole musicals my entire life, I used to be a singer and had a band and I can't even listen to music it like totally makes me gag.

Re: The Whine thread.
Ech! I KNOW! We have that same type of station here and they bill it as the city's "at-work radio station" because it's all soft-rock style crap that won't offend the old biddies. I mean, no ONE song makes me really want to take my life (well there are a few actually) but it's the REPETITION every SINGLE day of the SAME 45 SONGS.
I worked in a dental office, and in the morning I'd be snapping on the sterilizers and setting up trays and the music would come on, and it was like a twenty-pound weight would just settle on my shoulders. "Here we go....."
Every now and again, I'd be in a grocery store or whatever, and they'd have the same station on and it just tensed me right up. Like psychological torture at work.

No music in the library, thank whatever gods may be. We have a coworker who had his own office in his last job and has to have music all the time, but we have prevailed upon him to wear headphones.
