Don't think.
You must act!

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

It's never too late to search your soul. Unless you're dead.
I wish I could meet an astronaut. I would love to shake the hand of one of them, and thank them personally. Any of them. Just for what they have done, and what they are still doing. For the symbolic value they are providing to keep the dreams alive for our people, if nothing else.

Problem is, now I wish I wrote screenplays and teleplays, but it'd be easier to be an engineer and I could make more money off of it.

Re: Randomness
That's the line of reasoning that landed me in an oh-so-lucrative profession to which I am temperamentally unsuited instead of being a writer which is what I SHOULD have been doing all this time. Go with your gut, CX. As long as the bills are paid and there's food on the table money isn't all it's cracked up to be... especially if you're miserable.

Re: Randomness
Hey, we were all misplaced from our calling as writers - we who write for this site! Sometimes you have to do what brings in the money - especially if you have dependents. But you can always go back to writing. And the more of life you have seen (i.e., if you are older, or even ancient like me
) the more you have to put into your writing.

Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.
Re: Randomness
There's a lot of starving writers out there, and I would like to move out of the house officially at some point before I turn 30...
Anywho...
I'm going to be building yet another website in the near future, so I'm going to be asking some random questions every now and again just to get some opinions and any help I might need.
First question - since I have to set a particular width for my website to look decent, what do you think would be a good width? 800 pixels? 900? 1000? something bigger?

Re: Randomness
800 is best because it's safe for most screen resolutions. Or you can just not set a width - either way is good. I set my with on my website, but I'm making a new layout where it's all fluid and I think it will be better that way in the long run.
Writing as TrekPyro.
Re: Randomness
I definately have to set my page width though, as the website's look is going to be based off of the ENT computer interface. The only way to accomplish this is to make some images of the various components and set them as backgrounds to tables, which means the tables have to have fixed dimensions and the whole website has to have a set size, or the spacing is going to be all off on everything.

Re: Randomness
Ummmm...has anyone else heard of the garbage continent? Apparantly it's been around since the 50's, it's 2x the size of Texas is 80% plastic and exists in a little-visited vortex of the pacific ocean know as the Great Pacific Gyre.
http://thetyee.ca/News/2007/11/21/PacificGarbagePatch/
The line that disgusted me the most:
"Marine researchers have commented that pelicans dissected in that area have stomachs so full of lighters that they resemble convenience stores."

Re: Randomness
Wonder what it would take to clean that up.

A few dozen of these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsar_bomba should do the trick

Easy. Make two tables, one inside the other. Set the outer table to 95% and lock the inner one at whatever size you need for your images. That way your i/f is centered and will not look weird on monitors with very high/low resolutions
