He, he . . . nope, mostly PG-13. I scandalized myself once by writing an R-rated story. No one else seemed to have a problem with it.

Hee! All those smut-peddlers telling you that PG-13 is just a gateway drug... *teases NewBestFriend Aquarius*
It can be awfully scandalous, though, in that "MY GREAT AUNT ALFREDA COULD FIND IT ON THE INTERNETS" sort of way. (Also, you have the danger of putting in too many limbs during acrobatic sequences. It happens.)
*bops off to read Fireplains right now!*

I'm falling in love with your innumerably various customized exit signatures, in a "not scary on the internets" kind of way

You know, if my stepmom ever found out what I write, she'd probably be amazed and want to read it. She's always chugging away through a smutty romance novel

Heee... I use taglines compulsively. I used to spend far too much time on my college forum instead of, you know, graduating, and it got to the point where I would comment with something like *blank post!* just so I could write an appropriate tagline.
Also, my parents? Have totally read some of my non-PWP-but-smut-including fics, because they wanted to know what I was doing typing away in my bedroom at 4 AM during school breaks. And I kind of expected them to, you know, skip over any mentions of nudity and thrusting and what-have-you (I clearly warned them!), instead of reading it and giving me detailed feedback over breakfast.

I've been wondering, why is it a wince? (I recognize MissAnnThropic's Author Notes), shouldn't it be more of a shiver?

*tilts head to side all puzzled-like*
I'm not sure what you mean! I'm going to have to go read more of MissAnnThropic's fic, clearly! I stopped midway, because I was starting to worry that my escalating hyperactive commentsqueee might start to scare her.
-- Little Red, who might not actually be as scary as she thinks she is.

Oh no way! Authors LIVE for comments!

I was referring to Chapter 24 of Cry Havoc.
By the way, if you haven't read Cry Havoc, it's, IMO, probably... it's hard to pick *1*, but possibly my favorite story ev-ar.

Go away Elessar! She's MY new best friend.
Little Red, you are going to make yourself VERY popular with those enthusiastic story comments.

Yo, BFF!

But PG-13s ARE a gateway! Take it from this prolific purveyor of smut. Only five short years ago I said I'd "NEVER" write an adult fic. Now? People say, "Aquarius? Who? Oh, right...the dirty-minded one!"

My mother will never find my work, as I don't write under my own name! Though I suppose someone could out me...I guess I need to stop signing my real name to PMs!

ETA: jT--what you need is a sock! Create another persona to publish your scandals under. Don't tell anyone...well, except maybe US, on the down-low...and at least you'll be free from that workplace scrutiny if you ever wanna "go there".

She also wrote/is writing that mirror universe one of epic-holy-omg-awesome, yes? Because I think I started to explode from gleee around the time that Captain Kirk swaggered on to the scene. Like, seriously, how does one writer who's never met me actually go around finding all my bulletproof kinks and then puts them all in one fanfic with Captain Kirk on the side!? OMGZ. Kirk's all "I had the entire collection of NX-01 action figures as a kid!" and Archer's all "Really!?" and Kirk's all "Yes. I still get more chicks than you, though."

HAHAHAHA. Well, there are worse things to be remembered for! ("Typically, the 'aquarius' constellation is personified as the water-bearer, though in modern times, this has been taken to mean a 'purveyor of smut,' bringing much needed NC-17 fanfic to the thirsty masses.")
Also, ix-nay on the ockpuppet-say! I think Elessar already suspects I'm your psychic twin -- don't want them to start thinking I'm a sockpuppet too! (But yes, jT, that is TOTES what you need to do!!)

Love it! That's how I want to leave my mark on the world.

Aw damn, I almost gave away our secret!

Can you see it, if I ever meet anybody at a con? Heaven help me if they give me one of those "Hello, my name is..." nametags.
HELLO, my name is..
Aquarius
Little Red
Smut Purveyor
Sybil
I'd better hope that the psychiatric convention is not in town the same time!

... Sybil? I'm lucky that Little Red is my real life nickname (er, or at least it became my real-life nickname after I used it on the college forum all the time). I think I respond more naturally to that than my given names.

Re: AHHH!!!!! *HAPPY JUMP*
BTW, Aquarius's stories and Elessar's are MUST SEE. Aquarius does a hot and hilarious NC-17 and Elessar manages to be smoldering even in his G-rated stuff. I don't know how that works.
Also . . . for a perfect, funny, tug-at-your-heartstrings episode that feels like a lost Enterprise episode, read "Commander Tucker Has a Baby" by Alelou. She keeps so close to the actual feel of the show. OH! and at House of Tucker, read everything by Peter Simons.
